Another console...

7800 Game Development
SO I ADDED YET ANOTHER console to my (unwieldy) collection: a 7800!

And the totally sweet game Pole Position II. :D

I've been resisting acquiring this for a few years now, but my resistance finally melted when, out of the blue, someone offered to sell me their CC2. After hemming and hawing for a week or so I decided, in the end, that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get one. And so, of course, I needed a 7800.

And so here I am today, burdened with another 1980s machine to play with. :)

I must say, it is a nice-looking little beast, and I very much appreciate that the difficulty switches are in the front, as well as the joystick ports. Had fun with the kids yesterday playing PPII for a bit.

Get Food Fight. Best game on the system.

And Ninja Golf.

I recommend Joust and Space Invaders...

You know...I hate to say it. But I've been looking through the 7800's library and - nothing is really jumping out at me.

I've played some Food Fight on the CC2 and wasn't overly impressed. I'm not a big fan of Joust in general; I have the NES one anyway (and IMO it ain't bad). Ninja Golf looks interesting, but it isn't jumping out at me.

The ones I have my eye on are: Asteroids, Ballblazer, Centipede, Joust, Tower Toppler, Xevious, Dark Chambers, Desert Falcon, Food Fight, Robotron, Midnight Mutants, Planet Smashers, Ninja Golf, and the various homebrews.

It's time for you to write a 7800 game then :ponder:

Well certainly, the system and the games suck, just like the O2, the Intellivision, the Sega Master System, the 3DO, the Virtual Boy, the CD-i and many others... :ponder:
