Almost forgot!

Well, I've been so busy this month, I had almost forgotten that October marks the third anniversary of my blog.

Unlike my 200th Blog Entry Spectacular, I'm not planning anything special for the occasion. Mainly because I already missed it.

But it does give me an excuse for my annual reminder that once again - Baskin Robbins has pumpkin pie ice cream! I've already picked up my first quart. :D

(Don't forget to try it with a scoop of their chocolate. Good stuff.)

Anyway, I need to get back to working on my label entries for the Lead contest. Since Albert extended the contest, I've been able to spend a bit more time on them.

Edit: Finished up the labels late last night (well technically, early this morning). I basically did two illustrations, with an additional variation on one of them, then several different layouts. These are some of the more involved (and time-consuming) label illustrations I've done so far. It's a risk putting so much time into something that has no guarantee of ever being used, but I did find a few new cool Photoshop tricks along the way, so it won't be a total loss. ;) They should be up on the contest page tonight or tomorrow sometime.

Here are a couple of sneak-peeks:

Looks great! I'm partial to #2.

Wow - 73 labels! Of course 16 of them are yours :( Don't recall how many MM had; a bunch are missing, including the winning entry.

Thanks! 17, actually. :( I suppose at some point, I shouldn't bother with all the variations. Either the programmer is going to like the illustration, or he isn't. It's a holdover from art college where doing dozens of variations for a project was fairly typical.

That does look cool. Hopefully it prints well - when I was deciding on MM I printed them out and ended up eliminating a few I liked as they didn't translate well from screen to paper.
