I got PS4 gift card money for Christmas, so I bought a few Pinball games for Pinball Arcade and Terraria was only $2.99, so I grabbed that too.
I had Terraria for the Xbox 360 and had no problems with it (except not liking all of the demon stuff), but this PS4 version is zoomed so far out that you can barely see the character you're supposed to control. I went Googling for the answer, but all I could find were tips about smearing your fingers on a 'touchpad.' I didn't know that my PS4 controller had a touch pad, but once I looked it up, I tried it and it didn't work.
If I would have been closer to the TV when I first tried the game, I probably would have seen the answer. It was right there at the bottom of the screen when I pressed the Options button, but I couldn't see it from my bed. I was much closer to the screen the next time I started the game, so I saw it right away. Below are 3 easy steps on how you can zoom in and out when playing Terraria.
How to Zoom in on Terraria
1. Start a new game or load one that you have saved.
2. Once you are able to move your character, press the Options button (to the right of the big rectangular touch pad) and a menu of options should pop up.
3. Press the R2 trigger button on the back of your controller to zoom in. Press the L2 trigger button to zoom out. (Yeah, it was that easy.)
Now the game looks like it did on my Xbox 360 and I don't feel like I'm trying to play the game remotely from a distant submarine off the coast of Nantucket.
