Google Analytics - Active Visitors on Site

Posted by Random Terrain, in Internet_Related 05 June 2012 · 1,660 views

In case you didn't know, if you have Google Analytics tracking code on your Web pages, you can now watch your visitors come and go in real time. I've been wanting something like this for years. It makes your web site seem more alive when you can see visitors coming and going as it happens. It's more fun than looking at a cold, lifeless log file.

The real-time overview shows how many visitors are looking at your web site right now, how many seconds/minutes they are staying, how many pages they are looking at, top active pages, top referrals, top keywords, and top locations in the world.

Here are a couple of videos that people uploaded to YouTube about it:

Starting to fear stepping again in some terrains... They may be watching me...

Don't worry. I can't tell who is visiting, just that people are visiting.
