Quite tired today - didn't get home until after 2am! Joined some friends last night to see The Spazmatics at Sammy's in downtown Houston.
They're an 80s cover band out of Austin who also make appearances in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth. I knew most of the music they played, and they played it well. What really made the show though wasn't the music, but their on-stage energy, personas (be sure to read their bios) and interaction with the crowd. An example of the later is whenever lead singer Al would high-five an audience member, Geoffry would trigger a sound effect that could have come from an old karate movie.
I noticed Al had a pocket protector with binary on the front of it. Couldn't get close enough to decipher it.
If you get a chance to see them, do so! They put on a great show and I plan to see them again.
