The main menu

A multicart needs a menu. Or does it?I also own a Sony PSPit sometimes has a menu and sometimes not. If I am in the middle of a game and the phone rings I can just turn off the PSP and when I turn it on again it continues from where I left. With an EEPROM on board the Lynx has very similar devices. The cart is very much like an UMD disk. A streaming device from where you can load software. The EEPROM is like a non-removable memory stick. So we could roll back a few steps from the PSP and get...PSP -> ORO -> NQN -> MPM -> LOL !!! Hey, that sounds good. What does LOL stand for? Any good ideas? If someone finds a good smashing name for the Multicart 2006 operating system I would love to hear about it.So we could implement the Song(bird) LOL system. What kind of functions does the LOL menu need?Toolbox Images Music GamesAnd the places we can load things from would be Cart and EEPROM.The main task of a menu is to launch all kind of games without staying in the way.The obvious best action is to resume where you left the game when you power up the LOL. If this is not applicable we should start up with an open Games menu.Games Password Soundtool PicrossSo to choose your game you press buttons up/down and select your game with A. The Games menu is probably worth implementing right away. That does not sound too hard.Any comments? Do you want something fancier like rotating special graphics or strange visual effects?I just implemented it and here is a screenshot.

What is the LOL acronym ?

Hem, the first L is for Lynx of course, the second is for Loader.

The O is more intriguating : Operating, Obsolete (hem, not sure for this one ), something else ???
