Why am I doing this?

I decided to work on Jack and the Beanstalk again. I don't know why for two reasons. #1 - Nobody wants to help me to put sound in my program. and #2 - Even if I do get sound in it, I can't just burn copies and have them work on my PS1. (Perhaps I should just move this project to the Dreamcast...) Even if I did burn a copy on a CD, I'd still need a mod to my PS1 to play it. Which is stupid, but I guess it was needed for piracy. Stupid video game pirates. Can't they have something better to do, like make their video games be legal? Anyway, I made a few drawings of Jack and his mother holding a chicken. The hope is to make a picture of the inside of a run-down shack when I get around to it in which the first cut scene takes place. Or perhaps they'll take the chicken outside. That would be a lot easier to design, with their hut home in the background. The hope is to at least show the Jack and mother sprite showing and have Jack animated walking towards his mother. So I drew the sprites on paper and scanned them and then colored them in. They could use a little touching up I suppose, like I did with the crow sprite on the title screen. I am, though, wondering if and when a screen that says "loading..." is necessary. I did work a tiny bit on the game itself today. Instead of the crow moving up and down, he moves left to right, with the ability to move him up or down added as an Easter-egg-like thing. I also got two PS1 games at the store today. So now I have 60. I'm only getting stuff I might be interested in, so no RPGs or anything like that. And even then, I'm still up to 60. Perhaps I'll reach 100 by mid-2015. Anyway, I couldn't find the wire for the newer PSOne so I had to plug in my old PSX in. The boxy gray model. Still works. Anyway, here's a picture of Jack's mother.

The reason the background is black is because the PSX thinks black is transparent. So I made it transparent. I tried to make her look disheveled. And you're probably wondering why Jack and his mother don't just eat the chicken. The answer is because they're vegan.
