Galaga '90

Let's start out by saying I don't like Space Invader style games very well. That being said, Galaga '90 seems to be the best one I've ever played. Not only do I not like them much, I'm also not very good at them. I actually got to the second wave. It's actually kind of neat that the little buggers try to dive bomb you, but it's unfortunate that one of the upgrades to the classic Galaga game is that you can't move up or down. Just a little. Like in Centipede. You're stuck down there, which makes dodging the aliens a wee bit harder. The intro with the space ship taking off is kind of cool, but really doesn't add much to the game. But the best part of 45 minutes was spent trying to get the NES-to-USB adapter to work. As it turns out, it doesn't automatically work. You have to go into the settings of the emulator and press every button under input. But once I figured that out, voila, I could play my NES emulator with an NES controller and not the keyboard. Cool! Especially cool is that I have a "dogbone" NES controller so my hands don't get punched by the square corners of the original. What were the controller designers thinking? Did they not actually try them out? Anyway, Galaga '90 is a good game, but not as good as my favorite TG-16 game so far, Alien Crush.

Fellow Galaga '88/'90 fan here. I always liked to play a little bit of Galaga here and there, but after playing this version for the first time a few months ago, I was immediately hooked! I don't own a TG-16, so I use OpenEmu with a PS3 controller.
