My music project

I guess I have enough faith my computer will hold up. I've decided to write a four-hour-long song (or ":opera", and I use the term loosely). The idea is to use three whole CDs, which can hold 1 1/3 hours of music, which comes out to four hours. The title is "Stephen A. Quanger and the Huge Coat Hanger." It starts with an instrumental piece then it switches to a weird noise for a few minutes, then it switches to the first "song" I actually composed instead of improvised. It's called "I Am Normal." It sets up Stephen's life before he met the huge coat hanger. In fact, I talk through the whole thing, trying to sound as dull as possible, so I didn't even sing the lyrics. Because that's what Stephen's life was: dull, boring, pointless. I wanted, though, an odd time, instead of the usual 4/4. I chose 9/16. I have a book of a band called Dream Theater and their sheet music for one of their albums "Black Clouds and Silver Linings." before, I had no idea of some of the weird times used, and how they change as the song progresses. It is really interesting. Since I could never in a million years play the song on a piano (which is quite often the case), I just put the MIDI in. After writing my song, composing the MIDI and then recording the lyrics to go with it, I finally fell asleep at about 3am. I woke up at 2pm, so I got 11 hours of sleep. I will be posting the MIDIs of the songs I write for this project as well as the sheet music. Cakewalk's sheet music writing thing is kind of structured and weird, so the notes in bar 61 are kind of screwed up, but other than that, it looks OK. And although it's 8 pages in length, it only works out to a little over 3 minutes in length. So anyway, if you care, here is the website for the project. http://www.atari2600land.com/zwieback/stephenaquanger/

The website's main purpose though, is to back up the files in case the computer quits working, but I just thought it would be interesting to share.
