Shanghai

It's Mahjong solitaire for the Lynx! While Mah-Jong is a popular subject to make video games about in Japan, very few of them come stateside. Well, if you're looking for one on your Lynx, you're in luck!

Basically Shanghai (or Mah-Jong) is a tile matching game. Each tile has a pretty design on it and you match two of them with the same design (or same themed design, for example, Autumn and Winter count as a match) to get rid of them. The object of the game is to clear the board of tiles. But that's not as easy as it sounds, because the tiles have been stacked. And to make things harder, you can't just pick any ol' tile you see. It has to be a corner, or sticking out, or meet a few other criteria that I'm not sure of. Stuff that helps you along are hints (accessible from the menu by pressing Option 1). While you can use as many hints as you want, they are part of the score. The score being how many tiles are left when you can't get any more off; and, in a seperate row, the number of hints you've used.

I recommend this game if you like puzzle games, or weird oddities that you don't see every day in games made for the United States. I give this game a  and wonder why Mah-Jong isn't more popular in the U.S.
