MX 2002 Featuring Ricky Carmichael
Release date: 9/28/2001 (almost ten years ago! It's been THAT long since the GBA debuted?!)
Another one of those games where medium difficulty is too hard and easy difficulty is too easy. On Medium, I finished last and on Easy, it barely put up a fight. And there's only one track you can actually race on. There might be more, but damned if I can figure out how to get to them. US Open mode is only two races on the same track, and if you win both of them, you're the champion and you get nothing except a screen saying Ricky Carmichael (or whoever you picked) is the champion. Wrong, except if Ricky himself is playing the game. And there's a race alone mode to get the feel of the game apparently. As for graphics, they're polygon based except for the objects like colored boxes, the racers and car tires half-stuck in the sand. These tires only have three directions to face when you're turning so animation is choppy at best. So anyway, it's not a very good game, but if you're a fan of motocross, I guess it warrants a look.
