GoSub's Odyssey
Well, that stupid virus may have prevented me from programming any Atari 2600 games, but it hasn't prevented me from creating Odyssey2 games. I'm right now busy porting my first successful game GoSub to the Odyssey2. I'm deciding to forgo the "SELECT GAME" message for an actual title screen. Since I'm having trouble with it at the moment, I haven't put that binary file on the GoSub page (link here: http://www.atari2600land.com/gosub/) but I can give you a picture of what I want it to ultimately look like. The problem is the game just stops and doesn't respond to anything. The submarine is supposed to always move right on the title screen, there should be a sonar "ping" about every 4 seconds, and the game should start with a press of the fire button. None of this is happening. So now that the videopac.nl forums are back up again, I've asked for help. Oh, and speaking of the Odyssey2, I have ordered Pachinko! which cost about $7 including shipping. There is a really weird trend on eBay, which is people keeping their manuals with their Odyssey2 games, thus driving the cost up a little more. I don't really care about instruction manuals, just if the game works OK or not. I have about a half-dozen Odyssey2 game boxes laying around. Anyway, hopefully someone can help me with my problems so I can go ahead and create this game.
