I never played Alien, but the game reminds me at another C64 game with similar screen layout I never was able to figure out. Though the main color was red instead of green.

 

Any idea? Something with 'S' maybe.

Hah! I beat the bastard even without trainers!

 

As you will see, the end is just as lame as the whole game:

 

 

My, that really is one of the worst games ever. How did I finally beat it? Well, using the tips from the link I posted yesterday, I left the whole crew in the waiting in the safe starting room for almost the entire game

 

Using the movement commands, I let Ripley run to the Queens room and shot Alien slime there, until my ammo ran out. Then I went back to the armoury room refilling weapons. Back to the queens chamber I shot the rest of the slime.

 

And then I just ran back to the starting room. I only shot the alien queen and plain ignored every other alien in the entire game!

 

This game is such a silly piece of trash! BTW: Using the movent commands you end up just typing sequences like this:

 

2N => 2 squares north

G => Switch to Gorman (only then will Ripley move)

R => Switch back to Ripley

 

Now using the map I was just noting down movement sequences eg. here's the one from the Queens chamber home to the starting room:

 

2W 2N 1W 1S 1W 1S 1W 2N 3W 2S 5W 5W 6N 2W 1S 2W 1S 1W 2S 1W 2S 4W 2N 1W 2N 3W 1N 2W 1S 3W 2S 1W 2S 3W

=> Each pair followed by the above mentioned G and R!

 

Basically in this game you have to type 4 of those sequences in and shoot some Alien slime two times. That's the only way to properly play it, no kidding. Makes you really wonder what those game "designers" where thinking...

 

Some future day the "Playing..." series may see another movie tie-in in the form of "Short Circuit", but first it will continue with something else.

100% agreed.

Don't bother with this game anymore. Play Alien instead. It actually has atmosphere and is faithful to the movie in many ways.

 

Unless you loathe real-time strategy.

This game bores me. I would never play it if i didnt play it as a kid.
