Before Final Fantasy ever became a thought, it started out with two hardcore games. While these and future games sold poorly, they did play a role in the development of Final Fantasy. It was named that because the main developer was going to quit the industry if it had flopped but lo and behold, it was a success and the series was born.

The first two square games released were Death Trap followed by Will: Death Trap 2. Death Trap 1 has two paths.
