Completing the story for Swordquest (Airworld)

So as a kid, like many Atari kids, I was drawn in by the excitement of the Swordquest series.

What? You don't know what Swordquest was? What were you? Born in 1989? You probably think Nintendo was the first game system!

Just kidding, check out this great article I found on the Swordquest experience.

Essentially Atari came up with this great idea to make a game and comic book series (produced through DC comics) where people would play the games and read the comics to find clues. After finding so many clues they could submit them to Atari to be eligible to win prizes that were created by the Frankin Mint. These prizes were gold versions of the relics the characters were trying to find in the comics and the game.

Despite the fact that Atari didn't get out all four games as planned, they got out three games and the comics that came with them were actually fun to read.

So over this weekend after researching the various efforts of fans to make the fourth comic book and game to complete the series, I wrote my own theories and a rough outline of how I believe the story would have ended. You can find all that here:

Ultimately current Atari put the kabosh on fans creating or selling a actual fourth (Airworld) game or comic book. However as of a year ago Dynamite comics had bought the rights to redistribute the Atari comics and make other new comics. Hopefully something comes of that.

In the meantime, enjoy my imagination inspired by these games.

And maybe write your own ending. :)
