Constantly coming up with improvements.

Posted by Mike Harris in Mike Harris' Blog, 20 May 2019 · 67 views

Rewrote a portion of my pickup routine today.

Now, it checks for an object if I already have one in hand so it will drop and save it's location when I auto pickup another object. Moved my object display routine to only show object when I enter a room and not every cycle which should also improve speed.
Reduced the size of the player from a 4x4...

Fallout

Posted by Serguei2 in Robin Gravel's Blog, 19 May 2019 · 28 views

I checked my old cds from magazines and I found a demo of Fallout.

Since this game was praised by many players, I decided to try it.

To play this demo on windows 10, set to windows 95 compatible.

Fallout is a game about a desolate world when few people survives.

The little village runs by two gangs: fools and crypts....

The Semi-Impenetrable Fortress of Doom

Posted by atari2600land in atari2600land's Blog, 19 May 2019 · 89 views

Good news: I came up with an idea for a one-player Odyssey game. How many of you Odyssey owners out there have cart #7? Because this game needs it. This happened last night. So six2 is on hold for now, again, as I would like to release a one-player Odyssey game. I call it "The Semi-Impenetrable Fortress of Doom." I could just as easily have called it "Th...

Street Fighter II (DOS) (U.S. Gold, Hi Tech Expressions)  Street Fighter II: The Baddest Brawl Of Them All… Well they were right about one thing..

There was a time a long, long, time ago when the battle for gaming superiority wasn’t quite as one-sided as it is today, the battle between consoles and home computers. Now I’ll admit that I know very little about computers from this era...

Net Metering Active!

Posted by SpiceWare in SpiceWare's Blog, 17 May 2019 · 58 views

Received my electric bill for April 15 thru May 15:

At 9am this morning my meter showed 293 kWh total of excess solar production had been sent since turning on my panels .  The bill shows I was credited for 254 kWh thru the 15th, so it appears they've credited me for most, if not all, of the excess solar.

Grumpy Cat

If you are a fan of the Bubster, you are probably a fan of cats.   I can think of few cats that have meant more to us in recent times than Grumpy Cat.

At first in memes Grumpy Cat was thought by many to be male.  Nope, actually a female cat.

As far as everything goes, a pretty sweet cat.   Actuall...

Video Game Reviews

And my home video arcade grows! Last time , I added three new Tiny Arcade games: Galaga, Dig Dug and Frogger.

This time, it's Q*bert and Tetris:

In my first review of these, I mentioned Q*bert as a good candidate for becoming one of these Tiny Arcade games. I didn't think t...

Finally, I'm Playing MIDI Notes using MAC/65 Assembler Code

MIDI, Arduino

Do you remember me mentioning that the first attempt to write a machine language program to  read MIDI data delivered to the Atari joystick port was a complete failure?  The Arduino hardware has remained the same. The joystick trigger and cassette motor control(CMC) pin on the SIO port are still being used to control data flow.  But this ti...

What is the value of a $40 power supply?

Posted by OLD CS1 in OLD CS1's Blog, 06 May 2019 · 76 views

What is the value of a $40 power supply? What is the value of a $40 power supply? To the guy who built it, that may be $20 in parts and some labor, plus the time to research the necessary parts and the recognition of the need for the product in the first place.  What about when he ships out the wrong power supply and then exchanges it, but through an eBay quirk the buyer winds up not paying...

ti-99/4a, ti-99, Peter Kull and 5 more...

A few years ago I came across this disk of extensions to XB and was intrigued. It had nice high resolution capabilities and some interesting clock functions. I initially did some research and found it was released by Peter Kull in Germany in the 80s and that he has since disappeared from the TI99 scene. Not much more was known about it.

YouTube can fucking burn in hell.

Posted by Dragon Princess Yushira in DPYushira's Entertainment Blog, 01 May 2019 · 124 views

Just found out from my oldest sister that YouTube had terminated the PurrfectTrio account and it all started with a bogus copyright claim for a song that had nothing to do with Korea whatsoever. The so called copyrighted song translates to F World (instrumental) where the video in question (177 for PC88) had no music. To make things even more fucked up, t...
