  1. Past hour
  2. I finished Tibet over the weekend. Monks, Ice Palace, Yetis. I remembered one part clearly, in a dark giant room with cages of Yeti, but some of this I didn’t remember at all. I started to wonder if I level skipped some of it, bitd. I started the Xiang Temple stages last night, Lara is back at the Great Wall, and I didn’t remember much here either until I ran into some giant spiders, I did have a vague recollection of that. It’s lengthy and complicated and good thing you can save anywhere, because there are traps galore.
  3. The Emergency Room is a fun place to be. That may or may not have been a complete lie.

  4. I have an Atari 800 XL that has very strange behaviour. When I turn it on, I get a black screen. Power cycle multiple types, I sometimes get a blue screen, but no BASIC Ready. I put in a cart, like my AVG and it works perfectly all the time. This Atari 800 XL was recapped a couple years ago. I'm using a good modern PSU (based on MeanWell 5VDC PSU), all the ICs were removed, sockets deoxite cleaned. All the RAM chips and 74 logic chips were tested in my Retro Chip Tester Pro and are good. But here's the insane part. - The system can boot into the diag menu and passes all the tests - If I turn off the system after running for 2 mins, pull the AVG cart, and turn the system back on, Basic boots perfectly fine! Turn it off.. come back after 5 mins .. back to black screen. Thoughts?

  6. One thing I wish would happen. I know MuddyVision made a Shadow of the Beast demo for the 7800, But I wish he would go all the way with it, and do the whole game
  7. 5 years later Before qualifying begins, could the words, "Prepare to Qualify" appear on the screen? It doesn't have to speak it. Just writing the words on the screen is enough IMO. And after you successfully qualify, could your place (1st - 8th) appear on the screen in large type for a moment so you wouldn't have to look in the instruction manual to see how you placed based on your lap time? Your lap time was 56.98 seconds. According to the chart, you qualified 1st for the Grand Prix (Pole Position!). Let's show that information on the screen. When you get extended time, the car flashes and four fast beeps are heard. I like that. I think that's enough to let you know you got it. (No need to flash the words "Extended Time" on the screen IMO.) IMO the game is a racing masterpiece and I wouldn't change anything about the game itself. UPDATE: Or could they add the voice sample of "Prepare to Qualify" from the arcade game like they did with voice samples for Voice Enhanced Berzerk?
  8. Faxanadu is an awesome game. like others I couldn't get very far. I might check it out later this year
  9. Lot of issues with the top loader it seems. I'm a big fan of the front loader.

  15. We've reached a slight impasse, it seems. CONT1 can't be used to read diagonals, at least not by saying things like IF CONT1.LEFT AND CONT1.UP... for up and left. I can read the individual directions by addressing CONT1 directly, but this presents its own problems... pressing fire in conjunction with one of the directions adds 64 to the total, and could complicate matters slightly. I'll have to brainstorm and see what I can do to work around this.
  16. Hi @R.Cade, Did you try Best Electronics? It is listed for $5.00 https://www.best-electronics-ca.com/custom-i.htm
  17. I hadn’t played any of these before but I know Juno First is very highly regarded so I’m looking forward to that. I played a little Meooow! 2 and it was fun but I’ll need to try again with a joystick I think.
  18. Ah, yeah, "backing up". It's best to keep as many backups with as many friends as possible.
  19. I thought I said something good. Or, did I goof again? That seems to happen so much these days. K-R.
  20. The first 3rd party program I bought was Action Quest on cassette, and it came in a clear polybag with the manual serving as the "cover."
  21. Updated WIP: Mortal Kombat (Port) by Chris Bryant @trufun101 | Video Only (20240415) No Public Binary / Purchase (20240415) | Listing Updated: Apr 15, 2024
  22. It seems like game 1 is "Original" and game 2 is "Flash," but I definitely noticed an extra exploding block when playing game 1 of the "beta" rom. Here's the archive with that version: sega-master-system-romset-ultra-us directory listing (archive.org) I suppose if someone has the actual cart they can clear this up for us by telling us how it plays.
  23. And people said it couldn’t be done. I can’t wait to play the finished game.
