Atari 2600+ Beta Update 1.1 REV2
John Stamos Mullet replied to Ben from Plaion's topic in Atari 2600+
I would love a mini SMS that plays carts because I have a real one but can’t really use it since it doesn’t display colors correctly through a retrotink mini on my Samsung TV -
Thanks for the replies, guys. At least I know I'm not crazy. I did take the cart apart just to see if it was misaligned, but it's not. The board is different shape than a typical 4k cart and doesn't fit in a 'standard' case.

And CD! 😂

Thanks. Wasn't aware that LFT did that.

I can't seem to find any off-the-shelf DB9 extension cords that fit inside the computer module of the Intellivision 2. You can supposedly fit 2 INTV2 control plugs, but I don't have those. Plus I don't want to have to reach in there and unplug the computer to plug in the two controls and vice versa. I understand all it has to do is physically fit and be a pair of straight DB9 male-female. Where could one find a short db9 extension cord pair that goes in there just so you have easy access to switching out and in the ports. The main reason why I ask is because I have flashback controllers and 2 appropriate INTVFB control-> INTV2 machine adapters and those doesn't easily work with the computer component.

If someone can send me an original, factory, just after installing the 1.30.c Community Firmware games.ini that would be great. Post it here. Thanks! -

Announcing "AGSP Enhance" v1.0 for the MyArcade Atari Gamestation Pro
tjrtech replied to tjrtech's topic in Dedicated Systems
I really don't think it has anything to do with the files curated. I suspect there is an EOF character or something special in the factory version of games.ini that is not in a version of that file that is saved by an editor (or in my case a Python program running Win/Mac). Simply editing that file, in it's original contents and saving via a text editor I bet would avoid the issue. I have had other Windows users use the AGSP Enhance utility successfully, and I will reach out to them to see if, by chance, they "hand edited" their games.ini before using the utility. -
Announcing "AGSP Enhance" v1.0 for the MyArcade Atari Gamestation Pro
tjrtech replied to tjrtech's topic in Dedicated Systems
Sorry for the delay. Maybe, just maybe it works for me on MacOS, not because of a MacOS issue, but because I update the original games.ini file pulled out of the AGSP by the custom firmware manually, with a text editor and that put that version of the file into a format that it works, with updates/additions, go forward. That would be a simple test. Open the games.ini file of the SD card, add a blank line to the end, change the update to a 1 and put the card in the AGSP. Possibly from that point on it would work??? I no longer have the original and I certainly don't feel like resetting my AGSP to factory defaults. If "we" (and I appreciate you all because teamwork makes the dream work) figure out it is some weird format with the stock version that if appended to directly makes it unreadable (for the new additions) then I can probably work-around that in the code (when copying the initial version to lost+found, open it, read it, save it back to the SD card). -
Custom firmware for Atari Gamestation Pro
big_guitar replied to Brad_from_the_80s's topic in Dedicated Systems
So that one's pointed to the arcade rom and has no trigger relationship, ok. I renamed and moved my mouse trap COL file to match your settings, and then edited my trigger entry to match as well. It's still working for me, so it's a bit odd... This is where I'd try to run it via the GUI, and then after you wait for appropriate time and it doesn't run, turn off GSP, put the SD into the windows system, and look at the LOGS folder. The runme_log.txt file under the logs folder will reveal what data was used to try to run the last game selected. the end of that file should report as follows: ----pre-execution result settings---- --_core_path: /sdcard/cores/bluemsx_libretro.so --_cfg_path: /sdcard/racfg/xbox_blue_mtrap.cfg --_rom_path: /sdcard/Games/triggers/COL/mousetrap.col --_force_save: 1 --_subsystem: --_ra_type: 1 --_ex_path: /usr/bin/retroarch- 229 replies

IntelliGamepad - Development Thread

Can an analog pc15 be read just as easily as an analog stick? If so, I can have someone who is knowledgeable in that wire up a one of those converter chips programmed to be a Game Port 15 to INTV2 converter. I understand north south east and west are four separate pins and there's two pins for what fraction of a right angle there is in between the press and a reference angle. So it could be 1/4, 2/4, or 3/4 as the positions between the Cardinals. Starting at one Cardinal and either going clockwise or counterclockwise from the "reference angle". If it's just a simple as replacing an actual physical thumb analog stick with a PC 15 game port interface that would be an interesting sub-product that would come out of this. An Intellivision controller interface for those who like large sticks instead of handheld pads. Then instead of the three buttons being actuated by physical button presses they could be actuated by TRS 3.5 mm connectors so a handicap stick could be plugged in there. I assume the A B and C all represents the three physical buttons that are unique on the intellivision. I could provide my own keypad with a DB9 y-adapter, a flashback controller, and the INTV2<->INTVFB converter in the right place and orientation. You don't have to use a physical Genesis pad to house it. It could be housed in anything, any shape, that could fit a PC 15 game port and three TRS 3.5mm females, so could actually be cheaper because it doesn't have to be as exacting as a physical controller which demands precise placements to be ergonomically correct. -
Atarimax 5200 Ultimate SD Cart Latest Firmware/Menu?
x=usr(1536) replied to Tempest's topic in Atari 5200
Just to bring my end of this full circle: I received a replacement Atarimax cartridge (with reset button) today, and the issues I was experiencing are gone. This can't be definitively put down to old vs. new hardware simply because the first cartridge I had may have been flaky from the start, but either way I greatly appreciate the replacement. Steven stood behind his product 110% and did everything he reasonably could to proactively rectify the situation. I'm a happy customer and will be picking up a couple of other items from him in the coming weeks. -

Well, after 30 years, we can enjoy all classic consoles without regret. And if some ppl bought a Jag dirt cheap in a clearence sale end of 1997, I guess they are very happy now😅

IntelliGamepad - Development Thread
fdr4prez replied to fdr4prez's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
it is 16-way. it is taking an analog thumbstick and it goes into an Arduino Pro-mini (really just the Atmega 328P chip itself) that is running a program that is doing the mapping from the thumbstick, and it is looking for the button presses for the buttons that are on the controller. The Arduino has 9 outputs that are going to the Intellivision. You can see that all in the second picture of the first post. -
Colecovision colors goes off then freeze few minutes later
gtremblay replied to gtremblay's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Hi, yeah... looks like something is overheating... Once the problem occurs, reset the unit or turn off and turn it on again doesn't fix the problem. When the colors goes wrong, if I plug the Atari module, Atari games have the right colors, but if I removed it. Still got the wrong colors even with no cartridge... I have to turn it off for about an hour or two to get it working again and colors to come back as well. The VDP does have an heatsink. But maybe VDP has overheat and will fail soon... today I played for about 10-15 minutes before the colors goes wrong... thanks for the hints -
and without this keyboard you can't do anything with the TIPPC ! Another keyboard doesn't work, I tried it

I always liked the Atari XL font. It worked well on a TV with 40 chars per line
