Pac-Line 2600: Atari 2600 Homebrew
ZeroPage Homebrew replied to ZeroPage Homebrew's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
The ghost should be visible at all times on the screen, either chasing you, as a scared ghost or as eaten eyes, and never should appear out of nowhere. Based on your screen shot I can only guess you ate a power pellet, ate the ghost, the ghost went to the right hand side to regenerate and as you approached the right hand side it regenerated and killed you. The ghost always heads to the far side from where it was eaten, giving Pac-Man the maximum amount of time to get away. It's generally not a good idea to head towards the eyes without a power pellet nearby as the ghost will be back to full power again as soon as it hits the end of the maze. If that's not what happened, let me know exactly what happened so I can investigate. If you're able to record a video of your gameplay, even better. - James -
Season 15 ~ Weeks 14/15/16 ~ HomeBrew Weeks!

I would say so, if you are into thrillers. Hostel is freakish and has a huge cult following. It's a great thriller/horror. As for Untraceable, it kinda seems like a realllllly good long episode of a crime show. It's good. Definitely not a bad movie.

Announcing "AGSP Enhance" v1.0 for the MyArcade Atari Gamestation Pro
Torq replied to tjrtech's topic in Dedicated Systems
If it is the problem, in addition to considerations about how Windows writes to volumes vs. macOS, (e.g. whether copy-on-write was default) it would also be affected by a) how many files were on the card and b) what order they were written in and c) if/when a second .ini file was first written to the card (i.e. how any files were present then). -
Pac-Line 2600: Atari 2600 Homebrew
Living Room Arcade replied to ZeroPage Homebrew's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
This game is cute! And somehow it seems to be smoother - can't put my finger on why exactly. Cheap Death? - a ghost suddenly appears on the same side you were on Mr. James @ZeroPage Homebrew, Apologies if this question was asked before. Do you think that sometimes the gameplay leads to "cheap deaths" where a ghost suddenly appears on the same side that your Pac-Man is on? (Or is this hazard intentional and I just need to adapt my gameplay accordingly?) Sometimes in Jawbreaker for Atari 2600, I would experience similar deaths (that I thought IMO were cheap) when smiley faces would enter the maze from the same side as my jaws and honestly I thought it was not fair and a flaw in the game design. What do you think about it in the case of Pac-Line? But regardless, I like your game very much so far and am happy to see that it is progressing! -

After deeply contemplating this topic's question for several minutes, reflecting on it and researching, my answer is thus: In all "seriousness" though..........they knew it would be fun as carts got separated from box's and documentation that it would be a fun surprise figuring out which system each game was for! 🙃

No need for apologies. I appreciate your work on this. I have a list of games that I was slowly putting on the gsp. Now, I will be using your tool to initially transfer the bulk of them over. I will then add a number of Homebrews and any others not included in your list. Lastly, I'll go into the .ini file and tweek and/or add game descriptions and control instructions and modify any artwork more to my liking. Still a lot of work but you definitely saved me a ton of time. Thanks so much. Meanwhile, I have been sifting through all of the games in your build and so far they have all worked fine. My favorites include most of the Activision titles, namely HERO, River Raid, Robot Tank, Megamania, etc. All to be included in my final build.

8bitdo Retro Sega BT + 800XL controller issues
WOPRpwJOSHUA replied to WOPRpwJOSHUA's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yeah that's one of a few I've referenced to make mine. I've tried it in 2 configurations but neither worked. There are a few others that include some pcb/breadboards that include transistors/resistors but at that point I'd just get an Adladdin (which I may do anyway). It could be that I have a faulty 8bitdo dongle. -
I only programmed an Arduino bootloader using another Arduino (some excellent online tutorials for this). You should be able to use your TL866 as well but I haven't tried that.

Note that if you have just one 1N34A in there, it will be installed with the band opposite the direction of the D9Ks. . .I usually run the D9Ks through an ohmmeter to verify the polarity, as that way I'm not forgetting what I'm doing during the installation.

Atari 2600+ Beta Update 1.1 REV2
John Stamos Mullet replied to Ben from Plaion's topic in Atari 2600+
The system has only been out for 4 months, and it's had 4 different updates released already. You will see it, but they are working to make sure the next update includes big things, not just one thing here or there like the previous ones. -
Hello guys Aluminum does oxidize as soon as it gets in contact with the oxygen in the air. It forms a protective shield that stops further oxidizing, as do all precious metals. Unfortunately, some aluminum alloys do oxidize in such a way, that it does eat away at the metal. Sincerely Mathy

Atari 2600+ Beta Update 1.1 REV2
John Stamos Mullet replied to Ben from Plaion's topic in Atari 2600+
This is false. They're literally working on that right now, and from what I've heard it's very close. There's absolutely no reason why they can't get it to work. - Today

800XL startup RAM test fail options
WOPRpwJOSHUA replied to WOPRpwJOSHUA's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I don't, I was gifted this machine, the first one since circa 1985. I had a Hyperkin Ranger that arrived w/something broken off inside and felt so cheap I returned it and got the 8bitdo dongle. Planned on getting one off ebay (Slik Stik maybe) or one at a store near me (Quickshot Pro, meh) but held off bc I had this dongle arriving.
