  1. Past hour
  2. This sound very promising. I'll give this a shot later today.
  3. 48K - havent had time to pull it out for a test with it being powered.
  4. Ah, fantastic news! OK... there may be a last minute reprieve here, I had litterally just packed it all away in the box, even put the clear bag that it came in over it too. If I get a second (some family stuff on here soon) then I may try this.
  5. Just adding my experience to the overall survey: have had no problems with my pack-in stick.
  6. Thank you that worked! I had forgot to enable SDX. I tested Crypt of the Undead with the [BASIC] tag and it loaded right up. Did a peek with BASIC and it is indeed REV A. Thank you for all your help! Were there any games that required BASIC C? I can't imagine there were, but I've never looked into it. Maybe some utilities?
  7. @1050 Thanks a lot, I've set the spring tension to the lightest level, it seems to have gotten much better. And interesting story about the Bic pens! 🙂
  8. If you need anything for this, reach out. Happy to help.
  9. Given that Donut Dodo is one of the best arcade games released in the past 20 years I am instantly in on this one.
  10. Well, you have given an excellent suggestion! 😁 I have loosened the 2 screws that holds the PCB a tiny bit, so the rubber parts have slightly more room and now my joystick functions a lot better! I just played Bruce Lee and when I am running left or right I am not getting down anymore. Diagonals still work fine and the joystick is less stiff. Now the joystick plays a lot better! Loosen up the two silver screws a tiny bit. By the way, the rubber feet are very sticky, so I was able to reattach them perfectly.
  11. Nice work Garfield. They look great.... Oh wait!! :D

This comic makes little sense : r/garfield

  12. Apparently it's designed this way, light touch is good for L/R/U/D and firmer use is better for diagonals - stupid idea if you ask me.
  13. One hundred copies were made and distributed (Most were sold, the remainder were gifted to individuals that helped me). I would suggest not spending your money on something that is probably being priced way too high for what it is. I will be re-releasing a far superior version of the game, along with two other games, in Crescent Memories. The current plan is to publish this through AtariAge, which will make the game available to everyone who wants it for the foreseeable future. More info can be found at https://jagcorner.com/crescent-memories/. I try to send out an update on this project, and other related things, once a month through my newsletter. I would suggest following the email newsletter for the most recent information, to have a non intrusive reminder that these projects are still being worked on, and other newsletter subscriber only perks. I just read some of the Q&A in that original thread, and there was something that I agreed to do, but I didn't ever end up doing for whatever reason. That was to release a ROM of the game shortly after release. I should probably work on getting that done for that old version of the game, 7 years late, and because I now I have a way of protecting the ROM thanks to @CyranoJ Keep an eye on the newsletter for updates
  14. Yes definitely. the M-classic is expensive, thou cheaper than say buying a retrotink 5x etc. Dreamcast games look amazing!
  15. I think it's just luck, there's nothing wrong with my joystick - I've tested the stick and buttons under Linux with jstest and it works fine. My only gripe with the joystick is I keep hitting the extra buttons on the outer ring and the corner button. Apart from that - which is something I'll just have to get used to, mine is absolutely fine.
  16. Here you go. I went into HxD and removed the 16-byte header for you. BASIC.ROM SDX needs to be enabled in the settings and all cartridges need to be removed. Other than that, it should just work. The only other explanation is that your Incognito has an ancient JED file on the CPLD. There was a bug fix very early in the life of Incognito which addressed the exact issue of software launched from the loader not being able to access the ROM banking register.
  17. It always says that it can't detect my hardware when I do that. Yes FAT FMS is enabled.
  18. You'd think not, until someone involved with competing hardware starts to make the limitation a wedge issue. In all seriousness, though, my main motivation for raising the limit to 1,024 files on SIDE3 was in order to handle some of the game archives from the Polish FTP sites. Many of them are organised alphabetically in folders, and 500 plus games in one folder is not uncommon. I wanted the loader to be able to deal with that, and the SIDE3 loader is able to load and sort such huge directories in a few seconds. The fact the live search facility favours the current folder before iterating through the rest of the directory tree makes it easy to home in on the file you want even when there are thirty pages of directory entries.
  19. The MULE issue appears like it might be an emulation bug rather than a wrong disk image. Just tried the Atarimania .ATRs of both the Ariolasoft UK and Electronic Arts versions and both exhibit the same graphical glitches. The Homesoft "Multi-Joy" .XEX version crashes. And the other .XEX I have only appears to support 2 players regardless of system. EDIT: The version on Fandal's website seems to work perfectly. https://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=4190 So if you want to play MULE, use that one for now.
  20. I've never played this before and, man is it hard! I went with the same as Rickster since j figured he knows better than me. (All games played on the Flashback.) Track 2 - Tan Car: 10:24 Track 3 - Red Car: 9:54 Track 4 - Green Car: 10:53 Total Time: 31 minutes 11 seconds I think I crashed on nearly every turn (and even of the few straightaways) on Track 2. Track 3 was only marginally better, and I had a bit of inspiration or something for Track 4. This game is so hard and each round takes so long, that these might be the only scores I post. It was interesting to check the game out, though. Quite impressive for 1979.
  21. Enable 'FAT FMS' in the loader, put UFLASH.XEX and the BASIC ROM in a FAT16/32 partition, and run UFLASH directly from said loader. A CIO FAT filesystem driver is installed before the XEX is launched and UFLASH's file selector is then able to navigate the FAT directory tree and load files as if it was running under DOS (the implementation is read-only with Incognito and SIDE2, but R/W on SIDE3). This removes the requirement to copy files into SDFS partitions or fiddle about with disk images. Certainly you can put your ROMs on the ATR, mount the disk image on D1: (anywhere which doesn't clash with a HDD volume), and go in via SDX if you prefer. SDX has a read-only FAT16 driver but setting up 'external' APT entries for FAT partitions is another discussion entirely. Yes, but be sure to remove the 16-byte CAR header at the top of the file as well.
  22. I actually pre ordered 3 extra sticks. My order is direct from Atari and given there past delays in delivery I may get my order next week or in three weeks, who knows!
  23. I picked it up as part of a bundle and while it's nice to have, I won't really make use of it - it's even in it's box! £50 collection from Lichfield/Staffordshire area. Many thanks, Simon
  24. @Jfcatari Thanks for the info! Did you try the capacitors with Mouser CY3DM? Would you be able to update the BOM to reflect some of the changes we discovered? Maybe make a section just for the crystals with different options? Looking at your list, it seems we had some bad luck with the choice of crystals. It makes sense that not all manufacturers will have the same tolerances for their products in terms of the specs . Now we know the need to account for that possibility. I am currently waiting on some crystals from Console 5 to test and will report back. I need to order some more items from Digikey anyway, so I will order the ones you flagged as working from them.
