  1. Past hour
  2. Because it's a holiday weekend, I'm going to extend both Auto Racing and Bomb Squad out a week. No new game this week as well....It's okay, it will extend the season...
  3. Ok well just trying to learn. Accomplish ? Well, as you know that 10-liner goes much past the character per line limit. Wanted to see if I could modify it without all the fancy original programs bells & whistles & perhaps speed it up. Sorry for wasting time.
  4. I haven't seen a post by pdubs titled "Atari knows of those vinyl arcade cab reproduction art that people sell" yet, so doubt they know.
  5. Yes, I agree this one is not for everyone. I'll let somebody else do a b-key recreation, though. This is my idea of what I want for myself. If I may explain, the main idea is that there are too many compromises in attempting to make a modern in-case 400 keyboard. Believe me, I tried very hard to make it work, and I hate all the solutions. Instead, I'm making it an external keyboard. This way, you can keep the original 400 membrane in place, and your 400 computer mostly intact except for a new connector that I can hopefully make as hidden as possible. When not using the computer, you have the option to put the keyboard on top of the computer, which is what you see above. I'm not saying this is where it should be when you use it. Well, it can't: the 400 "keyboard" is a miniature ersatz. You have to use an alternative and very unpleasant layout to compensate for the size difference. My goal is not to make an unpleasant to use keyboard.
  6. If you installed the customized version 1.3c software over the 1.3 software you can. The GSPVertical was created before Brad's customized software came out. What happens when version 1.4 software is released?
  7. I think a perfect name for the game would have been The Adventures of a Green Hair-on-fire Maniac Diving Air Hose Facilitator. -Ben
  8. This is really bad! Try this... plug your THECXSTICK joystick into your Windows PC. Go to Start and type in Set Up USB Game Controllers. Click on THECXSTICK and go to Properties. It will bring up this screen: Now move the joystick around. If I push very lightly to the Left or Right, it is fine. But if I push a little harder to the Left or Right it always ends up going to the Lower Left or Lower Right corner. Something is very wrong.
  9. I compiled it with CVBasic and gsm80 and had to strip the vgm music to keep it under 32 kb. It had a nesting error on line 320 of the .bas code. The CV binary without the music is about 22 kb.
  10. Hello, I created a 7800 development thread, but I’m going to be making some changes to the games title and as such I was wondering if an admin is able to rename the thread. Thank you, Dustin
  11. Wow! This took a bit of head scratching and code wizardry(?). Everything related to graphics mode switching seems to be working now. The 64-column editor also works fine. Here is the current beta: fbForth300_8_Na.bin Gettin’ tighter!: bank 0: 162 bytes bank 1: 112 bytes bank 2: 118 bytes bank 3: 118 bytes ...lee fbForth300_8.bin
  12. In one video which I watched during my research, the person used an trim cap and an inductor so the frequency can be fine tuned: I am not sure if it is an appropriate application for the motherboard, but it was very instructional. And here is another tip that may be helpful if one does not have an oscillator. I tried it and it seemed to work:
  13. if it were mounted inside the case and not sitting on top it'll look much better I'd bet. I think the picture was to give some idea.
  14. I wonder if Atari knows of those vinyl arcade cab reproduction art that people sell? 🤫 Seems more like a cash grab attempt than specifically protecting anything.
  15. @raz0red I finally have some usable info for you regarding Zippy the Porcupine. I managed to get the debug text to display by feeding the HDMI cable into a composite adapter. The game boots but there's no audio or video. Based on the FPS, the performance is also pretty bad. This is with firmware v1.1x-r2 and dumper v1.1.0.9.
  16. aperture control and speed may dial in you picture issue, the controls should be on the phone or app.
  17. Now that we know that >3000..>3FFF is free that seems like the best solution to me. There are very few problems with just having one window for SAMS. The only time you need to think about it is if you want to copy from SAMS page to SAMS page. That will require reading some SAMS data into normal memory, change page and copy it back. I ran into this with the ED99 editor and ended up using two "windows" so I could copy records SAMS-to-SAMS with the most efficiency but it is a luxury in a tiny machine like 99. Not a necessity.
  18. I love your other keyboards, but please god no. A recreation of the b-key with mechanical switches would be the only way to go.
  19. Not sure about the first one (Legacy has many different characters, not just two), but the second one made me think of Metal Mech (not sure what the Japanese name is). You're a tiny dude that can explore higher parts of the levels, while the ground portions are mainly you in a large mech.
  20. I have a PAL machine, and my Pixel 6 Pro will not take images of it. If I try again, and get the same results, I will throw the fu**ing phone through the wall. For now, you will just have to take my word, that the images look as good as a perfectly seared filet mignon tastes.
  21. I feel like remakes of games that aren't that old are cash grabs and likely a product of people not taking the time to make newer games that are good. I think Last of Us is the most recent example of such a thing.
  22. Indeed, if the entire 4 KiB block at >3000..>3FFF is unused by the p-system, using >3000 (SAMS register address = >4004) as your only 4 KiB paging address, you are good for a single 4 KiB SAMS page window. ...lee
  23. Fun fact about Sunsoft's Waku Waku 7: They planned on a sequel to that, but had to pull the plug years ago. That, and the character designer for the game died last year.
  24. I've noticed this issue as well. @Ben from Plaion mentioned in another thread that they are looking into ways to update the hardware that handles controller input. (It's separate from the dumper and the main CPU.) If they can, I'm sure issues like this as well as better peripheral support will be addressed.
