  2. This is ridiculous, but in a good way! Can’t wait to see more. @playsoftthanks for sharing the ROM and @Trebor thanks for making us aware of this gem.
  3. This looks amazing! The gameplay is smooth, and the graphics look great! My one suggestion so far would be to have more of an indication of when you are hit. Maybe your ship can flash slightly when you take damage, or perhaps just the shield indicator?
  4. You have to start using the bell in the middle for almost every delivery once the Therapy Dogs get fast, that's the most important thing to completing that level! Don't always walk straight up to it, get close and hit it when the dogs are at a good spot for you you slip past them when they are frozen.
  5. An example URL for the web browser looks like this: http://192.168.1.65:9900/ Note "http" and not "https" - in most web browsers if you want no 's' you have to type the 'http:' explicitly. An example CIFS/Samba path for a windows FILE browser looks like: \\192.168.1.65\TIPI\ If your router provides local DNS for your home network, then usually you can use tipi.local instead of the IP address. Otherwise run CALL TIPI from TI BASIC and use the IP address it reports on the 4A screen.
  6. You are most welcomed. Yup. I tend to do things the hard way. One of my goals with IMT 2.0 is to be able to use something like MilkyTracker and translate the generated XM files to IMT 2.0 format. That, and create an actual tracker program for the Intellivision. It wouldn’t work to use that technique from GoatTracker, true. It also would be tricky to do it by hand, since you would have to account for the fact that tone and noise are mixed by ANDing their outputs rather than ADDing or ORing them, which means that their combined sound tends to modulate the timbre of the noise rather than it’s pitch. Ready! The DRUM macro generates data that is pretty much passed through to the PSG device’s registers. Therefore the tone and noise values are not frequencies but oscillator periods. Zero essentially turns off the oscillator, and shouldn’t be used unless that is exactly what you are looking to do. (Changing it back to a higher value later on May result in an audible click do to the way the oscillators are cycled.). Typically, if you want to stop output of a PSG oscillator, whether tone or noise, you set it volume to zero and leave its period as is. If you feel compelled to reduce the period, then try to avoid going below 1. The noise period is controlled by a 5-bit register, so it can go from $01 to $1F. Since the noise generator generates white noise (or something close to it), the period serves to bias the frequencies included. Essentially, higher values act as a high-band filter, while lower values act like a low-band filter. (Wait, I may have gotten those reverse, but you should still know what I mean: one extreme has more higher frequencies than the other.) dZ.
  7. I don’t (and never will) agree with it. I always believed MK would be a killer app on the Jaguar. I’m glad it’s happening!
  8. Hey guys - Wanted to share this with the Atari 2600m diehards. This is the latest video I've posted to my channel, My Retro Life. I feel like my story with the Atari 2600 is somewhat different from most and thus this list has some interesting titles on it! Hope y'all enjoy it - Forgive me if this sort of post is frowned upon. Have a great day!
  9. Hey! Am I playing Atari by myself? I wanna see a show of hands here! Let’s see what you’re playing! lol!
  10. The sprite sizes vary slightly, based on the character, but in general the arcade sprites are 80x144 and the DOS sprites are 64x112. Now that I've converted everything over to the DOS sprites, I actually prefer them. It leaves more room for the fighters on-screen.
  11. That game is pretty bad ass. And it's only a WIP? Crazy.
  12. HAVE YOU PLAYED ATARI TODAY! The game today is FANTASTIC VOYAGE. THE OBJECTIVE: You and your submarine are to be injected into the bloodstream of a critically ill patient. Your mission is to blast your way through several phases of artery obstacles and destroy a life threatening Blood Clot. Although I didn’t own this one back in the day my brother in law did. I remember I liked the game then it wasn’t until last year I picked this one up. I’m glad I did, this is a good but challenging game!
  13. Holy Shit! That is an amazing game you have programmed there, good Sir! 🤯 👍
  14. Back at it again last night. Spyborgs - a decent beat-em-up type action game. You deploy in teams of 2 - either with another player or a computer controlled partner - and basically beat the shit out of hordes of enemies like it's 1991. The game plays primarily with the nunchuk stick and buttons, but you have this weird ability to "discover" items using the Wiimote pointer and a swipe gesture. You have the ability to "upgrade" your abilities as you go, which I hope eventually brings some new attacks and tricks to the table, otherwise the game will probably run out of steam. TV Show King Party - who comes up with these names? Anyway, it's a bog standard trivia/quiz game set up to play like a "game show" with a host, etc. Trivia doesn't necessarily need to be dressed up to be entertaining, so I can see this one being fun in groups. The "You Don't Know Jack" games have been a favorite in my family for many years, but that series can be tricky for newcomers because the weird ways that the questions get phrased tends to confuse people who may otherwise have the knowledge to answer the question, but just get thrown off by the phrasing. A game like this Wii title is just vanilla Trivia, which there is definitely a place for. Carnival Games - hands down the shittiest "mini games" compilation I've tried so far. Hot garbage. Mario Strikers Charged - apparently a sequel to a Gamecube game that I've never heard of. It's basically soccer with some typical Marioverse touches added (power ups, special shots/attacks, etc.) You pick a Marioverse "main" character as team captain (i.e., Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Wario, etc.) and then have 3 other more "generic" players on your team (shy guys, hammer bros, etc.) This setup makes it kind of reminiscent of Ice Hockey on NES where you pick between skinny/medium/fat based on your preference. I've never played a soccer game that I have much cared for but this one is very charming and approachable, and seems like it could be a blast to play with other people. Super Swing Golf: Season 2 - I only played for about 10 minutes to do the tutorial and see how the controls work, and then work through an actual hole or 2 to see how it plays. First impression is that this is pretty cool. The motion controls work more or less as you'd expect, and the game itself reminds me a bit of the Hot Shots series, which is a good thing. On the scale of "simple/arcade" on one end and "complex simulation" on the other, this game looks like it might be in the goldilocks zone. Will definitely bring this out when friends are over and put it to the test.
  15. How do you like it? It is NTSC only but now I could buy it for the 2600+ but the reviews were not so promising🤔
  16. Yesterday's (4/17) totals: Android 1) Retro Bowl - 20 minutes 2) Retro Bowl College - 30 minutes
  17. If the button in the Paddles worked then you probably be able to use them, the first fire button on the first Atari Paddle does nothing and the second fire button on the second Atari Paddle is the sort button, if they they were fixed so were setup to use the right buttons in the game then the paddles might work, you need the button to work of it to use that Paddle, if you press fire on the CXSTICK then you can play the game with it, this is why you need to be able to set the buttons in the built in games yourself, only another way round it is change the buttons in the `gamecontollerdb.txt` file, I just realised something, the built in games have a file that it makes in the /tmp folder when the games is run, its called `ctrldb.txt` so is the games `gamecontollerdb.txt`file so maybe that can be changed, not sure. Here is the file from Airball, I try and get the one for Super Breakout too. ctrldb.txt
  18. Well, I did a video of the process where I sped it up and it actually took me about 1 and a half hours to do it there. But I know I've managed to do it in less time since. You might have to crack it open first so you know exactly which revision of the system you have. Va2, va3, va46, va7 etc. to make sure you have the right ones on hand or order the correct kit.
  19. Shame that's only for locals, good stuff there with the variety, a little bit of everything. I see two things I'd even take, but, I haven't lived out there in over a decade.
  20. I would avoid WATA at all costs. They are dishonest, unprofessional and are ruining our hobby.
  21. 40 caps in an hour is impressive to say the least. My skill level is definitely going to add time to that project. I will have a look at console5 and make sure I have all the necessary caps before I crack the system open.
  22. Mr. Beefy can rest easy now. Another request for extension for "Intellivision Amico" TM was sent to uspto. The request should be approved in a few days. This would give IE another 6 months before having to file for yet another delay or show proof to uspto they actually have a product using this TM "in commerce". #6
  23. @DZ-Jay Thanks for sharing those files! Having Basedrum and Bass on one "instrument" is really cumbersome as you described. In Goat Tracker, you can specify wether a tick uses a "fixed" frequency or the current note frequency. That way, you can have a short "base drum" part that always sounds the same and afterwards the rest of the bass with current note frequency. What you described is "rebuilding this from hand with multiple samples". For a snare drum, this does not work so well, since snares are generally longer than kick drums and therefore the bass starts a bit too late, so it sounds out of rhythm. And here are more questions I have noticed that using "0" as the noise frequency generates the lowest possible noise tone, where as "1" generates the highest, "2" a bit lower than "1", "3" a bit lower than "2" etc. So is value 0 an exception or is this a bug?
  24. Have you played it? Someone experienced issues with their cart ("...Cartdridge shows up the Vetrex Start-Screen an then IT DISSAPEARS."). I'm wonder if that's a one-off, or if all of the carts may be affected.
