  2. Don't know, maybe passing highscores to a PC with a comlynx to usb cable. But not for now, sorry.
  3. I've dumped two ICs with 208 games from this Dar Yar using a TL866-3G Programmer. In total there's 14 unique ROMs but they all look like they're just hacks. I've named the unique ones in the zip, Stella names the rest already. On this Dar Yar you switch between the two ICs using the channel select switch on the back then use the game select switch to cycle between them. The second IC has a combination of 2kb and 4kb ROMs and the TV boy style menu at the start. The menu doesn't work to select games on the system at all. Both ICs were dumped in the software by selecting the MBM27C4001, lifting pins 22 & 24 then connecting pin 22-16 and 24-1. Huge thanks to @manterola for guiding me through the process, I would have given up long before without your help. Dar Yar.zip
  4. Hi guys, are any of you, based in the UK, still using the titled printer or compatible.? I have 4 replacement ribbon packs that are free to a good home. 2x ribbons per box. They are essentially now old stock that I acquired from a work clear out. They were living in a cupboard for umteen years. Let me know if you are interested.
  5. A link to the developers website. https://pixel.games/cashcow/index.html

  7. As I see you still don't understand, I'll explain it quickly. The ROM format works with the type of cartridges designed by ATARI these are 8k, 16k and the standard XEGS. Now many other manufacturers made their own 8k, 16k, 32k, etc. versions. Then the CAR format was invented to be able to correctly identify each cartridge, since some of them have some particularities of their own like memory usage, buttons, etc... This rule applies to all emulation from atari800, altirra and cartridges such as AVGCart, Ultimate, etc...😉
  8. Yes, the initial start takes a while. But since the system allows for input redirection, you can write a script that does all that automatically.
  9. That is awesome! I'd love to rip my "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles" movie soundtrack and play it through the VLM
  10. Does anyone know if it is possible to use these kind of leds with build in resistor? https://www.reichelt.nl/nl/nl/groene-5mm-led-mit-voorschakelweerstand-12-volt-led-5mm-12v-gn-p54109.html?PROVID=2809&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzZmwBhD8ARIsAH4v1gWA244Iz_iE4m8Jvsh2EXkkye2Xm7a1TlIfSBygPBcCohPSr8cvcFMaAkySEALw_wcB&&r=1
  11. Does the Mclassic help a lot? I have a Pound cable but switched over to an Akura setup which is ok but still need an upscaler...
  12. I like them, because they're bad, or more specifically so odd, the Doug one has a "Doug" , anyway I've got like 20 in my misc handhelds draw, The r-zone is annoying as the most common version is actually painful to use, but it has cartridges which makes it in theory fun to collect,

  15. Okay if we are getting normal XF551 startup at power on when it is not connected via SIO to the computer, then that is somewhat verification that the XF551 is able to load the eprom instructions and is waiting for instructions from the computer on what to do next. That usually means that the crystal is working enough to do the self tests. But we might still be having an issue with the ROM chip. What is the size of the ROM chip? Is it an Atari original or a burned eprom? Can you verify it in a working XF551? Next step would be to troubleshoot SIO communication errors. It can be as simple as the wrong drive ID setting on S2. Try all four settings one by one. Both up, both down, one up, two down, and finally one down and two up. Normally if it's the only drive in the system, both dip switches should be down. Is this the dip switch called for in the BOM? Next is a SIO cable failure. Verify that the SIO cable you are using is working with the good XF551 drive. SIO cables can break internally, work with a particular bend in the cable and then when you disconnect and reconnect to another drive you disturb the physical placement of those wires and now ti doesn't. Next steps are definitely more involved. I wanted to do the easy ones first.
  16. The Wii came out almost 20 years ago. How can they not get a motion control game right? They obviously don't understand the difference between simple and stupid. Anyone else have the feeling the game is this way because their controllers couldn't handle it? People scrambling for this should just get a Switch and Clubhouse and call it a day. Darts and Bowling on that are way better and have proper motion controls implemented.
  17. Many, many USB power adapters are crap. They either lie about the amperage completely, or they drop down the voltage too mich under the load they are supposed to handle. I run into this powering RPi's all the time. It doesn't even matter if they are name-brand or not. It means nothing.

  19. I don't know how, but if you are interested take a look at the developments of various "hacks" for the C64 mini. I think it runs the same software, the carousel and options look very similar.
  20. If you have a long usb cord to the mini, on some cheaper chargers, that 5v can go below 5v because the USB wire is too long. Any electrical wire is a bit of a resistor when pulling higher amps and can make voltage decrease if the wire is long enough. Some chargers actually compensate for this by using 5.1v.
  21. New release r5.4RC4: https://github.com/josch1710/RespeQt/releases/tag/r5.4RC4 This Release Candidate fixes a bug, where a settings value could not be read. There also was some work done on the Disk Browser feature.
  22. Can somebody owning a 400MINI create USB sticks formatted with an EXT2 and and XFS filesystem AND create symlinks on them pointing to /. Maybe the console not only mounts FAT32 sticks but also such with an official Linux filesystem. And (another) maybe it follows symlinks when browsing the external USB stick. Then we could browse and (another) maybe find a way to extract the internal filesystem.
  23. Wonder Boy. In the meantime, Master Higgins can burn......
  24. I tried >A000 and the system crashed every time. Since there is no way to tell where in upper memory an assembly program is residing, it seemed safe to avoid upper memory altogether. With all this needing to be done, particularly the invocation of the Filer and the copying of all the needed programs to the RAM disk, initial boot time must have been pretty lengthy (I'm estimating 2-3 minutes). A minor inconvenience I suppose in return for the benefits of a RAM disk. Seems to me you are best suited to make this project a reality since you've essentially done all this before. The only bit that would be different would be the windowing of the RAM access, and that's pretty straightforward to do as I've shown previously. What say you? 😁
