  1. Past hour
  2. Sounds like it would be a good plan but I already bought missile command. Just waiting for it to come now.
  3. Reloading the ROS (DSR) worked for the working 4000B card! It looks as it should. Now back to the other RAM board and trying to configure it. 73562530169__746EE736-5EE0-4EA9-910E-63FD5142AB98.MOV
  4. Find yourself a OPTi MAD16 Pro card. I installed it in my 486 and I have never looked back. I also have a GUS in this machine for other stuff, but I no longer need to use one for effects and one for music. The MAD16 covers it all, not to mention it is a freaking awesome SB16 clone. A quick search found one at a reasonable (for today at least) price...with real Yamaha OPL: https://www.ebay.com/itm/156167227472 If you need the driver floppy image I have attached it to this post. 5. I didn't know this was a thing until this evening. I have been testing my Harmony Encore cart on my recently acquired heavy sixer and everything was working great. From Starpath titles, homebrew, demos, games...until... I tested California Games. Black screen, lost TV signal. Then Winter Games, same thing. It seems the Epyx games will not work at all. I found some older threads here on AA that appear to confirm that some other people with heavy sixers have the same issue with the Epyx titles. Some have issues with River Raid II as well, but that game works fine on mine. I haven't seen any real explanation of why those Epyx games are not working however. Not that it is a huge deal as I can play them on my 7800 with GameDrive (and I have tested the same roms, and they work there), but I am really curious now. What is it with those titles that is so special that they would not run on a heavy sixer? Some people say they work on theirs in some posts I have read, some say that they do not. I wonder if there is something in the rom code that can be modified in order to get these to work in heavy sixers that otherwise would fail launching them?
  6. Have you ever found yourself composing a song for a video game and when you're finished, you realize it doesn't really fit the mood you want? That's what happened to me. I had worked on this song for my Game Boy game Golden Pineapples. I called it done. Then the next day (today), I thought to myself "Wow. That song is really dark sounding and in a minor key." So I decided to make a more upbeat song for it. One in my songbook of songs I created a long time ago, long before I started video game making, and are stored in my head in case I need to use one for a game or something. I returned to Golden Pineapples after I realized I wasn't ever going to make my Game Gear game any better. So I worked on this again. Instead of creating new levels, I instead redesigned stuff and changed the graphics and other things not related to creating new levels. I also took some time to see if I could reduce the compiling time. Instead of over a minute to compile bank 0, it now takes a quarter of that time, around 15 seconds. Here is what it looks like on Super Game Boy... ...and here it is on a regular Game Boy. For some reason, I think the regular Game Boy screen looks better than the color Super Game Boy screen. Lots of pineapples. The next time I work on this I will work on a new level for it. I think the Game Boy needs more puzzle homebrews, which is why I made this (and Ugly Uppity Umpire).
  7. For me, personally, an SD Card on device would be as good as Drive Turbo if we can store a few partitions on it, and can boot off of it to GS.OS or Prodos. I think the main place an accelerator is handy is GS.OS, really. I've never used HFS partitions, but I imagine some people might want that.
  8. Hi everyone. I've been working in this game but not for making a cartridge. It's one of the games that will appear with full source code in my next book Stay tuned for more info!
  9. Will it be coming back at some point soon?
  10. What is the current most updated firmware #. Does it update any of the games or saves that are already on the SD. Or should this be installed fresh and then ad the game files after. It's been a couple years since I did any update so I don't remember and believe I don't get any barcode pop-up when I start mine (may have some lag or something with the TV)
  11. Why not? My 600XL only outputs RF, and it looks fine.
  12. For a hefty price. Too much for me unfortunately the last box I need.
  13. You probably corrupted the menu in the 8k IC on U9, don't know if you've lost the data in the other memory IC's, you can try reloading just the ROS without formatting the card again and see if it will recover. But be prepared to reload the complete ramdisk @InsaneMultitasker and others would have much more knowledge here.
  14. Today
  15. Turtles will still be in school, so he and I can't come down there in June. Unfortunately, as he wants to visit Texas. . .
  16. Been BETA-testing the new (unreleased) firmware I can confirm: No more failed USB transfers (Hooray!) An EEPROM save is now created correctly when a file is sent via USB (Hooray again!!) and.......
  17. Note that the D9K is a suitable sub for the 1N34A. I use it because the D9K is always on-spec for the uses we put it to, unlike pretty much every 1N34A that's been on the market since the early 1990s (definitely not a new problem here).
  18. Oh now I went and did it… the MENU for the working 4000B associated numbering on the items is corrupted or something got changed. There is probably an easy fix rather than reload my whole RAM disk (if necessary I’ll wait until I get the other card sorted out first) but the numbers all look scrambled and the text at the bottom doesn’t look quite right. Any thoughts? IMG_3216.mov Hopefully this is an easy one to correct. While the thoughts are pouring in here is some TI midi master ‘classic’ tune to enjoy. IMG_3215.mov
  19. Can't have plastic lids anymore, and just like the paper straws, it's worse with hot coffee after a few slips it becomes soggy and you start to taste bits of it in your drink.
  20. Quite impressive I have to say. Your compiler has been a boon to program development in XB on the TI as demonstrated by the sheer number and quality of new games developed with it by the likes of @Retrospect and @Cheung among others.
  21. Her would be your six diodes in the upper right central of the schematic
