  1. Past hour
  2. Wilf, where were you when I needed you? LOL.
  3. That sucks. Congo was the hardest for me to get for my 125. (I want to say I paid $400 for it back in early 2000s). I know I've seen people get lucky and find it in lots. That would be your best bet imo. Keep looking. You'll find one.
  4. Hi! I have some Atari ST games in .STX format that I want to run. A later version of Steem doesn't work. Two earlier versions worked but didn't register the files. Hatari doesn't offer an option to switch drives, and the images are on a different drive than the emulator. How do I get the files to work?
  5. If anybody here has cc65 and wants more memory for AtariXL programs, I have a library called MemXAtari. It provides sections of the OS's memory that are not needed by most cc65 programs and has an option to provide 128k extra memory--I think the chip that handles that is Freddie. Its memory layout assumes you are using DOS 2.0, so, if you're using another DOS, you will probably have to change the memory layout. It uses AtaDisk65 to load in the stubs and the contents of the extra memory, so you may need that. You can find MemXAtari at c65 additions - Manage /memory cfgs at SourceForge.net and AtaDisk65 at c65 additions - Manage /ui at SourceForge.net. BTW, I am attaching a config file for the OP in hopes that he can use it to determine which memory areas might be usable. atarixl_small.cfg
  6. DOS friendly version With downloads, Chrome is blocking but seems to simply leave the file in the download folder as something like "Unconfirmed 198598.crdownload" and so you rename that back to the download name then it is fine. Or use a browser such as "Brave" alongside and copy the download link across to that. mazeam_exomizer.xex
  7. It also has the rare 1983 Mattel Electronics Canada dealer catalog.
  8. Favourites in PCUAE on THEC64 has its own carousel gamelist so its not part of the main carousel gamelist, its so you can make your own list of favourite games that you want in the favourite carousel gamelist, I created it because I wanted certain games in it that I liked more then other games, in PCUAE Manager you can make 10 favourite gamelists if you want too so `Favourite 1, Favourite 2, Favourite 3....and so on up to... Favourite 10 but that because you can add more games and the games in the carousel it can show is up to 255 games per carousel gamelist and that all gamelists`... RGL could make it so Favourites has its own gamelist but the problem is you can not add any more games to the carousel so no point too, do not see the point of have favourites at the moment anyway its just sorts the gamelist that never changes because it only has 25 games on it, it need more games for favourites to work but that can be sorted if they add Favourite games from USB Game Saves made from USB Media Access so be able to add your own games to the carousel then and the carousel will be used more then too, that the whole point of having the carousel, too use it so not for Display Purposes only(not to make the console look nice, it meant to be a selling point). I say use USB Game Saves from USB Media Access because they make a screenshot of the game as a png file when it save the game that can be uses as a cover in the Favourite Game Slot on the carousel, this way you do not need to make a generic cover png file to use in each Favourite Game Slot the carousel creates.
  9. Ian Weeks (Tucasoft) announced this on Facebook, as his 2nd VCS release.
  10. https://github.com/wavemotion-dave/ColecoDS V9.7: 16-Apr-2024 by wavemotion-dave Fixed Colecovision RAM mirrors such that Boulderdash runs properly. The Heist now forces RAM to clear (all zeros) as it is known to be picky about contents of RAM on power up. Fix EEPROM sequential reads so Activision PCB games like Jewel Panic work correctly. Added the Wildcard and Print buttons on the virtual ADAM keyboard. All ADAM virtual keys should now be present. Added new configuration options to select the Colecovision mode to run in - you can force ADAM emulation, force PCB types, and set EEPROM sizes, etc. New global option to auto-patch for 'Fast BIOS' to force the 15 second wait down to 3 seconds. Minor cleanup and optimizations to the Adam core. ColecoDS is asymptotically approaching 100% compatibility. No emulator quite reaches that state of perfection but for classic and homebrew Colecovision carts (with and without SGM), I'd put ColecoDS at the arbitrarily precise 98.3% level. I have no scientific proof for this number - it's just a wet finger in the air guess. Some users were operating with non-original BIOS to cut down on the 15 seconds of COLECOVISION banner time... and some of these BIOS files were a bit too drastic in their modifications and caused some compatibility problems. I strongly recommend you use the original Colecovision BIOS with a CRC32 of 3aa93ef3 - to that end, I've added a global option that will patch a single byte (in memory - leaving your original BIOS pristine) to drive the 15 seconds of banner display down to about 3 seconds. Slow enough that you get the nostalgic feels of the game "loading" but fast enough that you get on with your gameplay quickly. Lastly - someone asked me recently what am I going to do when I get to the release after 9.9... of course I'll simply go to 10.0 - because, as it turns out, there are lots of numbers in the universe.
  11. These M Network cartridges look Great! @theonlygood did a fantastic job on these!
  12. @theonlygood Posted this on a thread: Part of the reason that I collect physical media is the artwork. M Network really cheaped out on that, so I created my own labels for the cartridges I own using the original box art. I would love to see someone like @pboland run with this.

  14. Today
  15. Not being much of an expert at networking, that all sounds rather foreboding! I'm sure I've managed to disable many Wintel, components. Especially the ones needed for updating. I noticed it in the Registry, while trying to undo whatever I'd done to disable GameDVR. Honestly, by the time that I finally got it going(Hrs.) ...I think the real issue was that I always Shut Down, Vs. Restart! It's not like it used to be. I think there are flags now, that tell how the system was shutdown, and thus how it will Power-up.
  16. C'mon Garfield. Can you give us a hint. :D

  17. I admit I only know this "wasssupp??!" from Scary Movie - now I know the background. Somewhat. About that song I mentioned, here is a video. Just to give you an idea of that piece of culture...
  18. The latest Atari Podcast is all about Neosprint!
  19. Power Pigs had a really long development cycle. I remember playing an early alpha build years before the final game was released. There was a lot of potential with Power Pigs but it ended up being poorly designed from a level design point of view.
  20. Shien the Blade Chaser is a fantastic game and one I'm proud to own. Even over here in Japan it's quite obscure. Graphically it's really nice but I also think the audio is above average as well. Some great tunes in there.
  21. It's got loads of sampled speech and scratch sounds in the music too. I always thought that was pretty cool in the early 90s 👍 when I first played it on my Super Pro Fighter or did I have a Wild Card DX at that point?
  22. One problem with the carousel is the way RGL added Media Access to it as a Game Slot, so they made it part of the carousel so they be no way of them running it as a Classic Mode like on THEC64, Media Access on that is part of Basic Mode so not part of Carousel Mode, RGL would have redesign the whole carousel to make a Classic Mode. I like the way they made the carousel on THEC64 where Media Access is separate and is not a Game Slot on the Carousel, plus it takes up a Game Slot and only one game can be a favourite in USB Media Access so not point to adding one as a favourite, RGL should of added it as a USB Icon(they could use the same icon just make it smaller) on the bottom bar instead because its a option so a feature(so should not be part of the carousel and it stops you doing other stuff with Media Access in the future, you should always think of the future when you make something and make it easy to change if you need too), so like, there is space for one more item on the bottom bar: `(Down) Save Games` `(Menu) Options` `(Rleft) Favourites` `(RRight) Sort` `(TOP)RUp) USB Media Access` `(F) Start Game` `THE400 Mini (logo)` Thinking why RGL added USB MA as a Game Slot, I did use the Info Game Slot, They let you know what carousel gamelist your on, on THEC64 in PCUAE(you can add your own games to the carousel on THEC64 in PCUAE) so when you highlight it and press on it, it loads up Classic Mode so you can load Media Access easier so it very similar so maybe why they added USB Media Access as a Game Slot on THEA500 Mini, they do take ideas from it, like Joystick Port Swapping, Favourites, Modes, I am glad they do... .
  23. Especially for Linux there is dosemu2, a very frequently updated DOS-emulator.
  24. The genuine bowser.sys file is a software component of Microsoft Windows Operating System by Microsoft. A driver for Windows NT, this system file supports the NT Lan Manager Datagram Receiver. It allows your NT workstation to communicate with the Datagram Receiver hardware. The original bowser.sys is an important part of Windows and rarely causes problems. Bowser.sys is located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder. Known file sizes on Windows 10/11/7 are 69,632 bytes (60% of all occurrences), 68,608 bytes or 78,336 bytes.
  25. It's getting there, doing code for that board. The 990 needs a fair bit of code to initalise the VDT911 card and display any characters received on the screen. But, at the moment I need to type any code for the 990 into the programmers panel a bit at a time which is somewhat tedious. So, I'm looking at connecting another PIC processor to the buttons and LED's on the 990 programmers panel so i can download code from a PC via the PIC and effectively type it into the 990. It will be slow but at least it will be saved on the PC and i won't have to enter code a bit at a time !
