  1. Past hour
  2. Lunar Lander Beyond is now up on the Atari VCS store priced £24.99. I've just picked it up and unfortunately no Classic Joystick support on this. The game looks and plays great on the Atari VCS though so not really a problem and i suppose we where lucky to even get the game in the first place 🙂
  3. Bruno Bonnel wasn't a good CEO no doubt but the developers that worked for him knew how to make good games , the Astérix games from example have aged very well and are still fun to play today, sure they're not Super Mario Bros 3 level masterpieces but then again almost no 2d platformer from that era was .
  4. I have now installed a PoekyMax. I wired the required signal lines on the underside and routed them upwards via the breadboard area. If you choose an electrolytic capacitor with a low height for C98, the stereo pokey extension fits over the capacitor without any problems and you don't have to bend it over.
  5. https://github.com/wavemotion-dave/ColecoDS V9.8: 23-Apr-2024 by wavemotion-dave Cleanup of MSX BIOS handling - we now support the Panasonic CF-2700 directly. See MSX BIOS section for details. MSX status line now shows RAM (based on machine chosen) on the status line (was previously showing ROM size which no other machine in ColecoDS did). MSX Caps Lock now has LED indicator on the virtual keyboard. Added ROM/CAS/DSK size and CRC32 on the main screen after choosing a game. Numerous fixes for Save/Load states especially for the MSX and Einstein. Improved memory handling to free up some DS resources for future expansion. There were a lot of changes "under the hood" on this one. Hopefully I didn't break anything
  6. I did and fiddled with the settings, and a game I tried didn't register the key asssignments.
  7. Shin Megami Tensei I've just about caught up to the point I reached in the PSX remake. I've heard that the SFC version is harder than the PSX remake's "Normal" difficulty level, and roughly the same as the PSX version's "Expert" difficulty level... but I'm not so sure after playing both for several hours. The SFC does this thing where, after killing the last enemy, there's a random chance for another encounter to spawn, and then a random chance after THAT for a third encounter. I really don't recall if the PSX version does this even on Expert; maybe it does, but not as frequently. This makes the SFC version much harder at first, but because you frequently get two or even three encounters on the same square, you level up REALLY fast. Once your human characters level up a few times and you start getting the machine gun weapons, your power ends up snowballing as you blast through a dozen enemies at a time and gain massive amounts of EXP points. I found the first few bosses much easier in the SFC version, but that might be because I know better how to play the game thanks to my time with the PSX version. I haven't been relying on demons at all outside of boss battles, though I do keep negotiating and fusing demons as I go. It's been enough so far to just get a couple demons to join from each new area, and then fuse them to get stronger demons with a good spread of offensive and defensive spells. It's actually a pretty chill experience, though the game does like to throw you into situations that seem much more difficult or stressful than they really are (taking away your human companions, for instance).
  8. Try clicking on the little Joystick icon on the top right screen
  9. Uh no, they were too hard for most people. And they weren't just hard. They were quite bad or at least very derivative. You have to understand Bruno Bonnell was just interested in making money; he hosted the French version of The Apprentice, you know.
  10. Sincere condolences to you and your family. We will hold your family in prayer. Psalm 23:1-6
  11. Switched over my PAL consoles, from the warm one to the cold one. Initial power up has the shadows moving fast, but after some minutes you can see them slow down, that's where I took this photo - at the point they completely stopped. Then they start going in the reverse direction as the console heats up, until it becomes fast enough to be less distracting: The yellow bar to green bar shows the strange shape of the colour change, at the point everything is completely steady.
  12. The reason why Infogrames is not looked back fondly in France is mostly because of that french AVGN knockoff constantly trashing they're games for being too hard for him ( typical casual that didn't wanna git gud at playing the games and just wanted to complain about the difficulty ). The impact that franchises like Alone in the Dark or Driver had on the industry will never be forgotten, Atari/Infogrames no longer owning the IP licenses won't change history (also nothing says they can't acquire them back in the future ).
  13. Well, the time has come, I am ready to start the pre-order process for EA 70's Arcade Classics with versions for Colecovision, MSX and Spectravideo. I have stock of PCBS, EPROM chips, and cartridge shells to get started (and can get/make more). The final box art has come through, and I am ready to order boxes, but need to have some idea of the level of interest for each system. Pre-orders will come with a numbered signed certificate in the order orders are placed for each system. Prices are in Australian dollars, which gives most of the world a 30-40% discount depending on currency due to the exchange rate at the moment. Copies can be ordered on my website here: https://www.electricadventures.net/pages/shop Pre-orders will run through May, with shipping to start in the 1st weeks of June 2024.
  14. https://ftp.whtech.com/ works for me right now.
  15. However, it seems to be met with a lock of mocking on the social networks, especially from France. Engagement doesn't necessarily mean validation, even though bad publicity can be positive. I agree it's unfair, but most people remember Infogrames as a bad publisher here, maybe not in the league of LJN but not that far off. I can name a lot of great games published by Infogrames, sure, even before the Atari era, but they don't necessarily own the licenses anymore though (Alone in the Dark in particular).
  16. This is awesome! The tweet already has over half a million views, so I think you're right. Yes, if Sierra came back that would be amazing!!
  17. The fcc database search shown above covers fcc intentional radiator certification. Their engineers were clear they hadn't submitted for that certification. The two employees that spoke on video were the engineers responsible for the hardware prototypes, the other engineer commenting on reddit was one of the two people responsible for firmware. You don't have to believe them but what they said about achieving fcc unintentional radiator compliance and not submitting for the fcc intentional radiator part is consistent with what the fcc database above shows.
  18. I'm not too familiar with them but I scrolled through a lot of their games and I really like the company's "style" in the games they're putting out. I hope they continue to do well!
  19. Today
  20. Interesting, the longer the console is powered up, the faster the shadows move and they become a fair bit less noticeable. This was my number one concern, so it's a win. Might be heat related, just needs to warm up a bit?
  21. The randomness is a bit of a problem yes, especially at that jump for the pond. It took me probably 10 tries before I could get a run where ghosts weren't spawned in the middle of it.
  22. Yes. Kingmakers looks incredible and got plenty of attention, I think top 50 wishlisted on Steam. Streets of Rogue II is another upcoming project that's highly anticipated. These games are crucial for Tinybuild's survival.
  23. Who can tell if this is normal behaviour? If so I can finally finish my sdrive max. By the way on my other arduino print the text next to the hole I should use for 5v says something different than 5v. If I use it it works and makes no difference to the other 5v hole.
  24. It's definitely big news! What a great way to embrace history. I also love the redesign of the logo.
