Which games would benefit from an analog stick? The vast majority of the library comes from systems that had digital controls. They'll all play all the Evercade carts, even the Super Pocket will play Tomb Raider. The newer EXP-R will have a more efficient chip and they expect better battery life, though the battery is the same. More info here: https://evercade.co.uk/evercade-2024-faq

The Yar's franchise went from a Panzer Dragoon clone to a Shadow Complex clone. How utterly weird.

Have you connected to your router and are you then able to see the attached PI? That will give you the ip-address:port where it is located. If it is not displaying on the router, and if you are using WIFI, then you likely are not using proper credentials on your PI configuration.

Stay_Puft.bas Stay_Puft.bas.bin

Question for all you Hardware Guru's
JB Freeware replied to JB Freeware's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
No worries my friend. I know full well how text based communication lacks the inflections of speech in regard to imparting the tone of the conversation. I was more worried about myself coming across as a cheap SOB -
The FRAME variable is a 16-bit variable that is updated each time a video frame happens. There is no VDP collision support because it is barely useful as it only detects sprite vs sprite collision but cannot distinguish sprites. The better way is doing a comparison of player coordinates against enemy coordinates. A Donkey Kong clone? Maybe you have seen this (soon to be published) but basically it would be enough to determine the current platform of both the player and the sprite, and if the player is jumping, and the sprite is in the same X-coordinate, it has jumped successfully over it and it can score.

Trying to fix an Atari XLF 800 Freddie
ataridns replied to ataridns's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
After I found an original Atari 800XL PSU, I checked it and plugged it in. Its output is 5.1V, and on the board, it’s 4.99V and in Freddie 4,98V. So AGAIN after the comments of TZJB ... my thoughts turn to the awful soldered DRAM socket. The person who tampered with this board using incorrect crystals likely affected the socket as well. I removed the socket, I cleaned very carefully the pads and replaced it with a new one. I test the machine with the new empty socket and black screen again. But my hunch proved correct! After inserting a new KM4164 DRAM chip, the “Ready” message appeared with a distorted video, but with a “Ready” ! Yes, sirs! The board has come back to life! There are some more faulty DRAM chips that need to be replaced, and I hope the distortion of the screen will disappear. So, THANK YOU AGAIN, TZJB, FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND EFFORTS. I wish to help you in the future as well! This weekend, I am planning to socket all the DRAMs and identify the guilty component. -

Atari 2600 games with FEMALE lead characters
JasperAK replied to Living Room Arcade's topic in Atari 2600
I would have sworn that the Yar was a female, but I just checked the comic to make sure. Alas, it was not to be cherie. Adieu. And as for Alien from 20th Century Fox, that has to count because of the movies. 'Human' does not preclude female. The messed up thing though, is that with the VCS' graphics capabilities, we're talking about either adding one pixel or taking away one pixel from a sprite. Seriously, the problems of those two little pixels don't amount to a hill a of beans in this crazy world. -

Hey everyone! Looking to start selling off some of the huge haul I got earlier this month. For starters, I have two working and tested ST computers: 1x 1040 STe - 380 CAD (can negotiate) 1x Mega ST 4 - 750 CAD (can negotiate) The Mega ST will include the mechanical Mega ST keyboard if you like, and I might be able to throw in an Atari mouse too. Both computers are working just fine, even the floppy drives are working good! I'm located in Toronto, Canada. I'm willing to ship, or meet-up in person I will have 2 Falcons, a Mega STe, and 2 more 1040 STe computers for sale soon, so feel free to contact me about those too!

Atari 2600 games with FEMALE lead characters

Pitfall Harry didn't unhide content in 1st post... ; ) -
@ColecoGamer I completely understand it going to Shane or Anthony, but if they pass, and you decide I would be worthy of such a spectacular gift, I would cherish it in my collection. I understand it being a reproduction, but it's still a super cool topic of conversation. I'm still waiting on my first official game. I ordered King of Fighters from Japan so it's taking some time. Crazy overall, because my NGCD came in less than 5 days. Once I get a game in and can have some input for this thread, I should be posting a lot more. haha

Atari 2600 games with FEMALE lead characters
Pitfall Harry replied to Living Room Arcade's topic in Atari 2600
How has everyone missed the obvious so far? Ms. Pac-Man! -Ben -
The MIO and BB would probably have a problem since the V: and T: and D: are bus devices.

Heh. That's funny. In case you forget? I actually like carts with people's names and labels and such on them. Feels like history. I bought a collection of Odyssey2 carts that had handwritten, masking tape labels on them. Sadly, the adhesive has dried up and many of the labels are gone. But I do have an O2 game catalog with handwritten reviews and comments about some of the games.
