GroovyBee
If you use Windows you can use the built in one. Just choose Scientific view on XP or Programmers view on vista.
Wickeycolumbus
If you prefer a hand calculator (I definitely do), I'd recommend the TI 36 X solar. Comes in handy and only costs around $20.

+SpiceWare
If you happen to be on a Mac, its built in calculator has 3 different modes: Basic, Scientific, and Programmer. Programer supports Hex and Octal, along with Decimal. Use the View menu to select the mode. To convert the number just click on the 8/10/16 button found below the output display. It also always shows the Binary representation of the number, though you can't enter values in binary (I wish it did). It also supports RPN mode if you like that (and I do )
Thomas Jentzsch
First I though someone had programmed a calculator for the 2600.
Rybags
I've seen cheapo $7 calculators that have Hex. They're easy to pick, they'll usually have A-F labelled as minor characters on function keys (since hex mode usually does away with stuff like Sqr, raise to power etc)
