NES Nintendo World Championship Cart, currently at $5,500. That ripped label and item description has me a bit dubious.

I saw a CNET article on this earlier today. In the comments section, there was one, impassioned commenter stating that this particular copy is well-known to NES collectors due to the damage and "mario" written on it. It's over $10K now.

During my lunchtime searches, I came across a HUGE 2600 collection for sale in Minnesota on craigslist: https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/vgm/4288687614.html

Update: If the bidding on the Nintendo World Championship cart is real, this just set the record for most expensive game ever sold. Currently over $90K!!!

Wow, 328 bids, $99,902.00

Now one in much, much better shape is hitting the market.

It didn't really sell for almost $100K. In fact, it didn't sell at all because the buyers all backed out. One did sell for $17,500 in the wake of that auction though and this new one may go for close to that....maybe.

Might be, but you can't see the grading or serial on those blurry pictures.

The collection on Craigslist is nothing special. I can see a few semi-rare games. Basic Math, Crash Dive, Back to School Pak, Racing Pak, Miner 2049, two Playaround games.

A pic from one of johnsgirls old auctions.

You see the rows and rows of boxed games on the shelves.

Why would someone pay $45 for a Hozer copy? I recently got a real copy for just barely more than that.

Not sure why you consider this an "interesting" auction, unless it's interesting that people are getting ripped off on these poor-quality reproduction carts.

I didn't want other people to bid on it. I wanted twillightfashion440 to get stuck with it.

I think the original seller was carissabunny as a $15 BIN

I tried to explain to him before that this thread isn't a dumping thread, he doesn't want to listen.

NES Nintendo World Championship GOLD Cart Super RARE 100% Authentic Adult Owned

Over 100k currently 71 bids

None of the bidders are even video game collectors. Seems eBay is now full of trolls so you can't sell high focused items anymore.
