Has anyone installed a digital thermometer in their TI just for the sake of adding something to the box? I know this one is just a cheap "gee whiz" kind of toy that does nothing, but I wonder if there is something out there that could be even more interesting or useful that takes the place of one of the 1/2 height drive slots?

Has anything caught your fancy, maybe something that not only monitors temperature, but voltage and amps as well... or even controls the fan speed based on temperature?

Right now I'm just getting ideas.

Hi,

no, I just have installed the slowest (and most silent) fan in all my PEB´s powersupplies,

and one more, at my Geneve-PEB, behind the front-panel.

As I am observing that, I asked me the same question yesterday, as I mounted that :)

see right here:

As I use many of that guarding stuff in my customers servers and serverrooms,

I will have a look for that parts in my stock next days.

But I also was wondering if my PEB-power-supply maybe breaks down if I connect one of my temperature-guards there :)

Had the experience last days that mounting 2 of a special floppydrive (Qume-142?) ended up in bad power-problems...

(was happy as Ksarul told me the reason for that, I was a bit desperate)
Maybe one of my next projects will be a 1.2KW Bequiet-Power-supply for the PEB :)

(as I have one rest in the stock I think)
But then we will see one HalliGalli-FunFair-Kermes-PEB with all lightning-mods ever, just for fun, I promise, haha :) :)
Ralf

Maybe something like that:

Yeah, the Qumetrak 142 and 242 drives are not good PEB drive choices when you want to use two drives--they are power hogs. . .and I like the thought of the Kermes PEB. You can paint glow-in-the-dark stars all over it so that it refuses to go dark even when power is off too. . . :) :)

yes, indeed, a very good idea. I have that glowing effects, in fact,

in my fitness-room! (what should not tell you that I am fit, oh no, the opposite is fact :)

Should call this "fatness"-room today :) :)

But, as a matter of fact, this will become a FAT PEB :)

Hi everyone.

I decided to write this now so I won't forget later.

Just to say, I've only really got while June/July and then work changes, hours change and I have pretty much zero time for hobbies as travelling will be biting into that time.

I may or may not be around much who knows..... I should just change my username to "Occasional99er" .... I think that would be rather apt.

So the point is .... just wanted to express my thanks to everyone who has helped me to add more words to my spaghetti xb-code and make it work better, thanks to the guys who wrote the emulators, because without them I wouldn't be able to use the real iron all the time. And also to harry , seniorfalcon, for all the enjoyment i've had using the compilers, xb256, and dabbling with the missing link.

I'm probably not gone .. .but more occasional.... great forum, great people.

I will however, open a special little thread on here somewhere with humourous TI related pics, if such a thing is allowed on atariage (the offtopic thread is so I don't see a problem if its TI specific and not a cat, or something) . Anyhow , quit rambling .... You'll see me bobbing around somewhere. ;)

Edit: Look at this ........... http://darkbasicgames.altervista.org/parsec2011.html

:)

This isn't really off-topic, but it seems like a good place to post it - my own little TI webpage. It includes downloads of everything I've shared here on AA.

Added a books page - much inspired by Ernie's old website 8)
