What's up with good old basic 60/40 rosin core solder? Locally I had a heck of a time finding some today, while there was all kinds of 'lead-free' stuff. I did eventually find some at a Pop & Pop type place in the nearest small town.

I need to ask though, should we be stocking up for future use?

It's going to be around for a good few years yet. http://www.pprune.org/tech-log/380212-avionics-lead-free-solder.html Places like Jameco have it if you can't get it locally.

Hi,

just check eBay for "PQI" (maybe for "DiskOnModule"). 256MB should be about 15 euros, a used one.

Check that you buy one WITH this 2-pin-power-adapter coming with it. Does not run without, of course.

BUT: I did not check it at all (as there is data (OS) on this drive I want/have to save first).

The only check I did up to here was to load the IDEDSR11 and the DU2K showed me the drive and its label.

So I assume, that it runs, also because of its small size and that it is old stuff, too :) I hope so, have ordered 4 more :)

More about it next week.
