S.BAZ
Special Announcement: HSC participant karokoenig, and an anonymous AtariAge user have donated six boxed Atari 2600 games to be awarded as prizes for Season 5! Three of these will go to the top 3 players in a special round challenge at some point during the season. The other three will go to the medal winners in the bracket challenge. thanks, karo!
karokoenig
That's right. There will be real prizes this season. To be precise, it will be 5 games and 1 peripheral. I was planning to do a between-season tournament, but had to call that off due to time constraints. So S.BAZ, Jake and I decided we'll give away the prizes during the season. Pictures will be posted in due time.
karokoenig
And now back to the business at hand. Here's my score for Pitfall II. I tried to find as much as I can without getting too frustrated. I didn't even find the balloon. But I was never much of a fan anyway, and for my standards, the score is ok. Pitfall II: 64,078. Also, for bonus: MOON PATROL. Music on the Atari 2600 that's not annoying - now that's a novelty. Thanks to the moderators for giving me an excuse to play that game again .
DT Kofoed
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back! Nice rendition of the force theme by John Williams. Sniping a music bonus point.

Lauren Tyler
How can you forget Pressure Cooker? It's repetitive, sure, but it's catchy! I was THIS close to getting a perfect score, but that frog by Quickclaw caught me! So damn close! Next time, for sure! DT Kofoed
Honest question here: I have played the game, and consulted the map... is there literally any way to reach your goals? I cannot get from the right-hand ladder and bottom-sewer pond to ANYTHING ELSE. I can see on the map where things are, but there appears to be no physically possible way to reach them given the physics of the game. ? WTF? +Nathan Strum
bonus: Find Rhonda, recover the diamond ring and rescue Quickclaw to finish the game for (+1) bonus point. Done, done and done. I forgot what a horrible grind that last climb is. Ugh. I would've scored more if I'd stopped earlier and stopped dying repeatedly. 100,170 additional bonus point: Post a pic. Pitfall II is noted for it's music! Mention another 2600 game which features some special tunes & post a pic. (+1) Reactor! Awesome music. Gorfy
My first exploration of this game, and I'm finding it rather tedious. But I've never been much of a platformer fan. I stopped playing at 15k......

RJ
Just wondering - can you finish the game by collecting things out-of-sequence? For example, getting Rhonda or the diamond ring last? Sure, but it takes a lot of doubling back.
