I used Track 11 (shortest track) as my test. In NTSC, I couldn't do better than 6 seconds. I switched Altirra to PAL and I got 5.0 on the first try. Should I just play all the tracks in PAL mode instead. I'm sure I can improve on all my times quite a bit. Any other NTSC players on here this week? Thoughts? Edit: Just played Track 13 in PAL...and I shaved 20 seconds off my time. 1:03:00. I guess I'll just play all the tracks over again in PAL mode to keep consistent with everyone else. The XEX file should work and you have 2 tracks at least that we are using: Click on 'Make Trax' then press Select [f3] to toggle between the two circuits, then press Start [f2] atarimania has full instructions. Alternatively pick another racing game to play for a bonus point or two if you wish - there are probably some times posted for the others from a previous HSC play. I assumed that the clock timer in the game recalculated based upon the update frequency to the TV. I'm highlighting best times manually, so missed those (corrected) I think I still have the most wins 6 so retain the bonus point Today's improvements Track 1: 0:59:5 (I will check the graphic to make sure this was not Track 13, pretty sure I started on #1!) Track 9 0:39:7 Track 12: 1:18:9 I've been round and round and round and round on Track 11 - It often misses your lap time, which I suspect is when you are faster than 0:05:0 - probably this is hard coded minimum - someone could test this on a shorter test track perhaps? Anyone with a decent memory of the circuits should be able to significantly well at this game, like a proper driver would! Last night I conducted a track test in Altirra and came to the same conclusion as the rest of you, that a lap time just below 5 seconds always rounds upwards to 5.0 seconds while a lap time far below 5 seconds won't register at all.
