eegad
Sorry if perhaps it's been posted before, but... In cleaning out my inlaws house,I came across a 1982 issue of Games magazine. I browsed through it. There were 4 ads for Atari stuff. This one I looked at, turned the page, then flipped back and was like "what???". So... Q: What's wrong with this picture? A: Look at the picture on the PacMan box.
AtariLeaf
So there's a version of Adventure with Pacman instead of the little square? Cool.

TrekMD
That's one long monster to chase Pac-Man!

the_wizard_666
Yeah, my guess is they took an older advert and did a quickie edit when Pac-Man was released, and they just missed the artwork.
SoulBlazer
Heh, I think your right about that being a quick edit. Something else that also strikes me....the point's been made before, but man, that Atari system was still really expensive in 1982! $150 then was worth $379 in 2017 dollars! I got my PS4 brand new with a game included (although only one controller) a few months ago for $250! Some of the games being sold for $8, though...that's a bit better, as that's about $20 in today's money.
Flojomojo
PAC-MAN is an Adventure!!
maiki
I got my PS4 brand new with a game included (although only one controller) a few months ago for $250! PS4 is no real value in today's measures. It's more or less a multitasking PC with online requirement to live on. Atari 2600 was something like non existent Emotion Engine v2 now back then. Zonie
I don't even want to calculate the value of a $500 console TV in today's prices... Edited April 17, 2017 by Zonie
RaccoonyDave
I don't even want to calculate the value of a $500 console TV in today's prices... I know it's a CRT and probably 30-40 years old, but to me this TV screams Hi-tech and Futuristic. I guess that what I get for forming my first memories in the 90s without cable on my woodgrain TV.
