+jedimatt42
Sorry this took so long guys. Long videos take even longer to edit and upload, so I had to wait for a day when I had plenty of time. Anyway here is the first video from Fest West 2017. I hope you all enjoy it! Ω https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV3R4t7nK0U&feature=youtu.be I have to admit, hearing this from the audience point of view was rewarding... And I'm surprised nobody pointed out that my clock was wrong but I'm grateful. That's just an ntp issue. Now I can't wait to see the other presentations again. -M@
Airshack
One of my best memories from FestWest is watching you play Sparkdrummer's Challenge with the crowd cheering you on, erupting in laughter when you crashed the ship. Looks like your skills have improved somewhat Was a thrill to see my game elevate Sinphaltimus emotionally! Omega-TI
Thanks Airshack! I'm really happy to hear you (and others) enjoyed the day. I'll try to get your presentation out next week. I apologize for being so slow on these this year, but I've been kinda busy. BTW Airshack, nice photos! Thanks!

iKarith
I saw swlovinist's video right away, but Omega's first video posted was the TIPI demo, which makes sense because it was the first presentation of the day. Editing video takes time if you're combining multiple cameras/angles. I'm still getting the hang of it myself and I do it on a Mac. God help him if he's trying to do it with Windows.
Airshack
Speaking of presentations...Senior Falcon has been working on a portion of the BASIC Compiler workflow which DRAMATICALLY speeds up the process. What I demo'd at FestWest17 is already the old/outdated way to manage Compiled BASIC. I'll have a short video out soon outlining these exciting developments. PS - Rich's presentation was pretty cool so the faithful on AtariAge has something good to look forward to...no pressure Omega. ;-p
Sinphaltimus
"Senior Falcon has been working on a portion of the BASIC Compiler workflow which DRAMATICALLY speeds up the process." OH REALLY! can't wait to learn what's changed!

Omega-TI
Rich, Sorry it took so long, but I've been slammed for time lately. Someday I'd really like to see this as a 'stand alone' BASIC that works within a DOS environment, for instance being able to type something like, "BASIC PROGNAME" to run a basic program would be so cool, and upon completion return to the DOS prompt. Anyway, here it is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmHCsmVDZHo

Omega-TI
Omega, have you ever used an MSX machine? They have that relationship between MSX-DOS and MSX-BASIC. -M@ I've never used an MSX machine, but considering it's origins and relation to Microsoft, I'm not surprised. BITD, my TRS-80 Model III was the same way, which is something I really appreciated. Execution of an assembly language program or a BASIC program did not differ much, other than having to type BASIC in front of the filename. I've always been partial to the DOS environment as it's fairly quick, unlike the TI that requires you to go through startup screens or multiple menus, and other assorted BS to load a simple program. While it's only my lowly opinion, I think a true DOS environment for the TI is way overdue. With the FinalGROM99 on the horizon I envision some intriguing possibilities. Now if RXB's BASIC comes to fruition, and it turns out to be as fast as implied, coupled with SAMS support, well... happy days!
Sinphaltimus
OK, No excuses but I took some pretty bad pictures and not enough all together. I really was very overwhelmed by this event. Being in the same room with all you gurus and having one on one interactions with the likes of Pete, Rich, Mike, Greg, Matt, Sparkdrummer, Airshack and others was incredible for me. I also failed to get a group shot. Some folks prefered not to have their photos taken so i focused on the presentations. Anywaze, here's what I got... Omega-TI
I also failed to get a group shot. There is always next year... IF I decide to do this again. While I cannot and will not commit yet, you might want to pencil in April 28th of next year... just in case. On another note: After seeing those pictures of Airshack, I realize I need to drop a few pounds!

While I cannot and will not commit yet, I have a feeling Omega will host this wonderful event again next year. If not, I may need to go public with those photos I took in the event parking lot. Airshack
Kevin Savetz from the Antic Podcast (for the Atari 8-bit computers) was in attendance at FestWest 2017. He provides some commentary on the event at the beginning of Antic episode 43.
