alexishere13
Hiya! I've recently been attempting to recreate the game 'Undertale' for the Atari 2600 via Batari Basic, and it's been going well so far. However, I've run into a bit of a problem. After the intro to the game, there are 3 rooms built so far. In the third room, a simple song is supposed to play, the timing of which is controlled by an offscreen missile. However, for some reason, even though I used the same technique here to make music that I did with the intro sequence, the music cracks and sounds nothing like it's supposed to in this room. The code is attached in txt format, and any help is appreciated. Thanks (Oh, and any tips to reduce file size would also be helpful!) undertaleataricode.txt
+Random Terrain
Why are you using missile0x with the sound? You might need missile0x in your game at some point.
+Random Terrain
See if this is any better: undertaleataricode_2017y_05m_15d_0521t.bas undertaleataricode_2017y_05m_15d_0521t.bin You might have noticed that Atari 2600 sound can be pretty hard on the ears if we don't play around with it. For example, fading each note in and out can make it sound similar to a flute. There are various things we can do to the notes to make them sound better. Here is one example: randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-batari-basic-commands.html#ex_sound_with_bg_music
Buckaroo
I've fixed the file for you, on line number 380 you had if missile0x > 32 then AUDV1 = 0 As this happens after all of you other music commands in music5 it turns the volume to 0 at the end. I've commented out this line and the music plays undertaleataricode fixed.txt
Buckaroo
Whoops, sorry RandomTerrain I didn't see that you beat me to it. P.S. Thanks for all of your help files. There a godsend. I'm totally hooked on programming for the Atari now

I'm totally hooked on programming for the Atari now Thanks. Besides fixing that line you mentioned, I got rid of some redundant code, moved some code around, and added a couple of things. More could be done, but that's all the time I had.
