DanielJSorenson
This is a fun little game. I have much room for improvement though! Pengo score: 29620 S. Baz, I have a question though. There seem to be TWO versions of this game - one whose opening screen says "1983" and one whose screen says "1984." The style of "Pengo" title is also different for both. See below: Are both versions valid for play in the contest? The rom you shared (contrary to the screenshot you provided in your introduction you gave for us of the game, is the one for the 1984 version that does not use the bubbly fancy font for the word "Pengo." DanielJSorenson
A little better with a little more practice: Pengo (1984 version) score: 55620
Vocelli
There might be a big difference. If someone wants to confirm... In my 1983 version... I am only getting 5k for matching 3 special blocks in the middle of the screen. I watched Oyamas video and he is getting 10k. Also, when I lose my last life my screen switches to a screen without a score. Someone might want to confirm all of this.
Vocelli
Pic 1 is me making a match 3 of special blocks just below Pengo on the right hand side for 5k. Pic 2 is the screen that appears 5 seconds after I lose my last life..... and it doesn't go away. Also, I don't think my levels were the same as Oyamas (unless the levels are random). Can't confirm now have to get to work.
karokoenig
Isn't the 1983 version the prototype which you can also download here in the AA database? That might well have different scoring. My score was achieved with the 1984 (i.e. higher scoring) version, just for the record.
toiletunes
With the 1984 ROM, sometimes I score 5000, sometimes 10000. I think it depends on how fast you do it? Edited July 20, 2017 by toiletunes
