tacrec
So here's the latest on the championship race: The Spartans could have won the Battle Network championship this week, but they were DESTROYED by the Armada 29-9. The Armada and Spartans are now tied for first place. If both of those teams lose and the Destroyers win next week, then the Battle Network could come down to a tiebreaker. The Killbotz are in first place in the Action Network. They can be network champion if they beat the Bombers next week. If the Killbotz lose, then the network championship could also come down to a tiebreaker! Eight teams still alive with just over a week to go in the season! tacrec
It's the final week of the season with eight teams fighting to compete in INTV Bowl IV next Monday! And it's an inter-network week. The Beamriders (4-5) host the Spartans (6-3) starting now!
tacrec
The Spartans dominated the game for three quarters and had a 13-3 lead, then the Beamriders rallied back to tie the game at 13 halfway through the 4th. The Spartans then got a field goal and escaped with a 16-13 win. The Spartans can win the Battle Network with an Armada loss Thursday. Destroyers and Beamriders are both out of the race. The best Armada can do now is tie. They would need a lot of points to win the network with a tiebreaker. Killbotz can win the Action Network with a win tomorrow. tacrec
The Killbotz (5-4) are fighting to win a spot in INTV Bowl IV as they host the Bombers (3-6) starting now!
tacrec
Bombers dismantle the Killbotz 26-9! This means the Action Network championship could be decided by a tiebreaker! The Mutants have a good shot, Laser Sharks and Smash would need to score 30+ points to be close. If Mutants, Sharks and Smash all lose this week, the Killbotz would still win it. tacrec
Just realized the first four games this week are played on black turf. Weird how that worked out. The Mutants (4-5) try to keep their championship hopes alive as they host the Deadly Dogs (4-5) starting now!
tacrec
The Dogs controlled the game from the start, getting a 19-9 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. Despite a huge 4th quarter by the Mutants, they couldn't hold the Dogs back and the Dogs win 29-22 to knock the Mutants out of the race for INTV Bowl IV. tacrec
Big game today! The Armada (6-3) host the Laser Sharks (4-5). The Armada need to win and score at least 35 points to win the Battle Network Title. The Laser Sharks need to win and score at least 26 points to be in the lead for the Action Network title. Both teams need to win but only one can! Let's do this!
tacrec
Close game with a dramatic finish! The game was tied 10-10 at the half. The Laser Sharks took at 20-10 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Sharks were moving the ball in the last minute trying to get to the end zone, but had to settle for a FG. Then they got an INT in the last few seconds and tried to kick another FG but MISSED! Sharks still win 23-10. That missed FG cost the Sharks a chance to play in INTV Bowl IV. And the Armada lost, so the Spartans are Battle Network Champions! The Killbotz are still alive to win the Action Network. The Smash need to win and score at least 43 points tomorrow to win on a tiebreaker.

tacrec
Live from Beamriders Stadium, it's INTV Bowl IV: the Intellivision Football League championship game between the Killbotz and the Spartans! The Spartans enter the game as champions of the Battle Network with a 7-3 record. They had a dominant six game win streak this year before hitting a rough stretch at the end of the season losing their last two out of three games. They still have the best record and best defense in the league. The Spartans will be battling the Action Network Champions Killbotz, who come into the game with a 5-5 record. In all honesty, while reaching the championship game is an accomplishment, they do not have much to be proud of. The only reason they are here is because the other teams in the Action Network failed to pass the Killbotz in the standings. Their offense is just as good as the Spartans, but their new defensive strategy still needs work and their overall playing has been inconsistent. The past three INTV Bowls have all been memorable: INTV Bowl I featured two equally matched teams in the Mutants and the Destroyers. The Mutants overcame a 23 point deficit to beat the Destroyers 27-26. INTV Bowl II was the deadly Sharks against the streaking Bombers. Based on their performance throughout the season, the Sharks looked like the clear winner. However, the Bombers learned the Sharks' offense and gutted the Sharks 36-6. INTV Bowl III was the best one yet, an outer space clash between the Smash and the Armada. The Armada stunned the Smash with an interception and field goal in the final seconds to send the game into the first overtime in league history. Both teams fought hard into double overtime, the Smash emerging with a 20-13 win. Number four could go either way. The Spartans need to regroup and get back to early season form, and the Killbotz defense need to step up and shut down the Spartans powerful offense. The Spartans are warming up on the black turf. They are the home team, wearing their yellow and orange uniforms. The Killbotz will be wearing their road grey and whites. Kickoff is in less than 20 minutes! tacrec
The Killbotz defense needed to step up, and the sure did, getting 10 interceptions to destroy the Spartans 39-14! The Killbotz were up 16-0 at the end of the first quarter, and 39-0 at the end of the third quarter. Spartans offense could not get anything going until the 4th quarter. tacrec
Heh yea, but the Spartans were on a downhill slide for a few weeks, so it's not much of a surprise. So the Action Network has three league championships vs. one for the Battle Network. We've had two blow out wins and two close wins in INTV Bowl history. Following the pattern, INTV Bowl V should be another close one!
tacrec
The Killbotz really played like champions yesterday. The defense they have been trying to build finally came together, and they proved to themselves and to the league that, despite their regular season performance, they deserved to be there. tacrec
Season four sure was an interesting one with a wild finish! Let's break it down: Killbotz Even though they got a new name and defensive focus this year, they still had their young quick offense from last season. Their games were inconsistent however, having some good wins in the first half and then some tough losses in the second half. Thankfully for them the rest of the Action Network was just as inconsistent, so they emerged as champions of the network and limped into INTV Bowl IV. That is when the defense they worked for all season came alive and took advantage of a weakened Spartans team to become league champions. Laser Sharks They are another team with a new name and focus this season. Their new young offense scored a lot of points, but their defense was inconsistent which led to some big losses. Their biggest disappointment was in their final game of the season, missing the last field goal which would have gotten them to INTV Bowl IV. Mutants They set a record for most points scored in a game with 53, however their offense cooled off soon after. They scored 22 points or less per game and lost four out of five during the second half of the season. Their defense was also mediocre. Smash Last season's league champions has an inexplicable 1-5 start to this season with their defense giving up a lot of points. The defense tightened up towards the end of the season and they managed to win their last three out of four games, but by then the damage was done. Beamriders They had a very inconsistent season. They would score 25+ points in some games, and only score 9-10 points in others. Their defense really hurt them giving up 25+ points in most of their games. Despite all of these struggles, they still had a shot at the network championship, but they lost their last three games of the season to shoot down their chances. Spartans They blasted off starting in week two with a six game win streak, scoring at least double the points of their opponents in most of those games. They were in total command of the Battle Network until they inexplicably nosedived near the end of the season and lost their last two out of three games. Even with those big losses, they still had the best defense in the league. They barely won the Battle Network championship and made it into INTV Bowl IV, where they were dominated by the Killbotz. Destroyers A very inconsistent team both on offense and defense. They scored 30+ points in some games and only scored nine in others. Their defense had a few rough games, being victims of that record-setting game against the Mutants, but tightened up toward the end of the season. Armada Last year's Battle Network champions were close to repeating this year. They were tied for first place with the Spartans in week 11, but they lost critical games toward the end of the season that knocked them out of the race. They had a high scoring offense in general, and their defense was one of the best in the league despite having a few bad games. Deadly Dogs Another average team on both sides of the ball. They had some big wins and some bad losses, but most of their games were close. Bombers They lost their first four games of the season, then got their offense together to go 4-2 to finish the season scoring 20+ points in most of those games. Looks like they're building their offense to return to the top of the Battle Network. Full season stats coming soon.
