Shift838
I'm thinking of using the design i found on mainbyte to make a speech in peb plane board. The drawing has one part that is confusing me. See photo. I have looked at Thierry's website too which has the same concept but do not know if it's another LS00 chip or what. Anyone?

I was building a speech board, based on some info back in the day, on perf board. I know where the board is, to trace that out, but it would be Monday before I can post a possible answer. Someone else probably already knows or can get an answer faster, but I will post it Monday, if possible, otherwise
+Ksarul
I have an experimental layout for this board that I've been debugging off and on since the 2016 Chicago Faire (health kept my hobby time limited for most of last year, but I am getting back up to speed now). The original and updated versions of the schematic are in the documentation thread. . .and they properly identify the components. That may help you--and it may help my debugging too with another set of eyes playing with it. Shall I send you one of my assembled test boards, Chris? It has all of my known corrections applied to the board already. . .it works, but the sound is still a bit garbled, which tells me it is probably a timing delay issue. I just have to play with some trace lengths to see if that resolves the remaining issues. . .

+mizapf
The 74LS00 has four NAND gates, so I would guess this is just one of them. What was your question?
Omega-TI
A few years ago Greg Warner started a project in << THIS THREAD >> for just such as device. It's been long abandoned, but maybe if someone gets a hold of him he might possibly part with the info to get it completed. It's worth a shot anyway. Also with a future TIPI IN A P-BOX this may be very popular.

His if I recall was based on a CPLD and I thought he said he had it very close to be finalized a few years ago.
Opry99er
I chatted with him not too long ago. He said he was going to come back and get back to his projects... no timetable though

atrax27407
Will it have any additional functionality or will it be like the RAVE Speech Card I have in my P-Box right now?
Shift838
Will it have any additional functionality or will it be like the RAVE Speech Card I have in my P-Box right now? I would like to see it with RTC and for it to be compatible with the Corcomp and MBP clock cards with a switch that can turn the clock on/off so it could be used in the TI or the Geneve (just as a speech card). I think that may be beyond my abilities though. Reason I was thinking of this is because since I acquired the Geneve I have no speech for it without a card and the Rave99 cards are very hard to find. +Ksarul
Here's the schematic I did a while back. Note that there are three errors on it: the PEB pin numbers for D5 and D6 are reversed (D5 should be pin 21 and D6 should be pin 22) and RD3 should connect to pin 42 of the Speech Synthesizer (the schematic shows pin 32, which is wrong). I'll be correcting these in the next data release. A3-PEB-Speech-P1(R1).pdf A3-PEB-Speech-P1(R2a).pdf

+OLD CS1
What was that for? Just being nasty? Unwieldy abrasive, perhaps. But I am not certain greg has completed any of the projects he started working on (two to my knowledge.) I know a few people like that, myself... colleagues, actually, and they are known as "flakes" in our community, as well.
