I played for about 30 min last night and had a good round going but thought I had messed up and played more than one credit and quit... gah! Should have kept going and kept the score. I took a pic when I let the continues expire and still had 4 credits left anyway. Will try again tonight... Going ahead and posting it just in case it was a fluke and I dont get close again... I had been checking here every couple days earlier this year, but after awhile I gave up and forgot about it, and now I've missed the first two rounds. Oh well. Here's my score for Raiden. I found that the secret to this game is to just let your hand go numb so you can hammer away on the fire button without the pain. Might be able to get ROMs of a couple, but even then it's iffy if I can get them to work. It depends... for example, the first level I use red shots and homing missiles, right before the boss I switch to blue laser. The second level, red shots and homing missiles all the way, don't kill the boss, just wait in the lower right corner and shoot the bee-like planes until the boss dissapears and you exit the level. The blue weapon is absolutely the most powerful, but not good for levels filled with kamikaze enemy-planes. PFG 9000 Posted October 9, 2018 Share Posted October 9, 2018 I prefer the red Vulcan and regular missiles in the first three stages, and the blue laser and homing missiles after that. The TurboGrafx port of Raiden is weird. The first stage has lots of extra enemies added, so it's much harder than most of the other versions. But once you get to the second stage, it's super easy (probably because you're more powered-up) and stays that way until the boss of the third stage.
