Some others may wish to copy you. ** EDIT ** Do you have any photos of the internals? Edited November 1, 2018 by --- Ω ---
+save2600
Now all we need is a tiny external controller that hooks directly to the expansion port! A beige case and a beige drive too.
broettger
I have been toying with the idea of getting a 3.5 inch floppy working via usb on a raspberry pi. Then maybe try mapping a drive on the TIPI to the physical drive. I am also a fan of the beige(non qi) console.

Thanks for the kind words glad you like my post! Ask and you shall receive! Here are some photos of the internals I found the case on Ebay. I am always looking for stuff I can build. Omega-TI
Super easy but you will have pc disk format with tifiles Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk You know, I tried a USB disk drive on a RPi once and IIRC it worked, but I've NEVER tried it with the TIPI/RPi configuration. For some reason I *ASSUMED* the TIPI would not support it. For a sidecar TIPI that might be kinda cool, but for the P-Box TIPI it really does not seem necessary, especially once M@ gets the DSR fixed/updated. It's the same you just softlink a folder in tipi_disk to /dev/fd0 Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk

broettger
Super easy but you will have pc disk format with tifiles Yeah. Not super useful. It would need to support native disks to be useful. I will need to ponder this a bit further.

sparkdrummer
If you can find one, the Backpack 3.5 can be adapted pretty easily to be used on a TI-99/4A. Just disconnect the connector on the drive and add a small pigtail with the connector of your choice. I have this one set up as drive #6 on my second system. It is connected to a Myarc HFDC and is set up DS/QD..
+9640News
The FC5025 had drivers written for Windows, Linux, and Macs that allowed you to read through a USB port data from a TI formatted 5.25" disk. See details at http://www.deviceside.com/fc5025.html. It was read only, not write. Source code was also available. Beery
Omega-TI
I like VideoFX's solution, it's really small and neat looking. I did an external drive a couple of years back using an EZ135 case, but it's not as compact as his.
