Humblejack
Hi All, I just finished cleaning up my Intellivision carrying case. It turned out pretty well I think. The latches were corroded with a little rust and the foam was still attached but disintegrated when touched. I cleaned the latches with Diet Coke and a ball of Aluminum Foil. I think they turned out pretty nice.
+JasonlikesINTV
Looking good. I'm hoping to do mine soon.
Humblejack
I just ran across this ad. I saw one a while ago and the cost was I think around $79. I am looking for it to compare. Note the difference in the front section of the case, there is no room for the cartridges.
+intvsteve
You should mail that address and see what happens.
+JasonlikesINTV
I think it's just an inaccurate picture. The description states that it holds 12 carts, which they do.
+DZ-Jay
You should mail that address and see what happens. It's in Raleigh, so perhaps Rev can drive by and check it out ...
+DZ-Jay
By the way, when I was 10 or 11 years-old, I never had an opportunity to take my Intellivision to a party. Was that really a thing back then?
Humblejack
Well, party is a relative word, I used to take mine to several different friends home. I would put it in a box and off I'd go. After a few visits they bought their own and didn't ask me over any more... wonder if that was planned?
+intvsteve
Don't think we ever took our consoles anywhere back then. My cousin lived literally a few hundred feet away, and we'd just visit whoever's house depending on what we wanted to play. We had Intellivision, they had Atari and eventually ColecoVision. Another friend had Atari and was only a few miles away via the bike. Eventually he got an Intellivision as well. The tough one was Odyssey 2 / C=64... That was a good ride out in the country at the other end of town and required more planning -- too far for the bike. But nobody's stuff ever left the house. +JasonlikesINTV
I had the Intellivision, so when friends came over we played that. Friends had Atari, so we played that there. Everyone had an NES, so we'd just trade carts

I just thought it was funny that the ad suggested you could take your Intellivision to "parties, tournaments, friends' homes, ..." I'd hate to be the guy who brought an Intellivision to a party back in the early 1980s. They'd never invite him again!
Intymike
Sorry for the threadnapping... This is my very own Intellivision carrying case that I made back in the 80s.
Humblejack
Now that's an Intellivision Carrying Case, no doubt about it, very nice, very cool! I love homemade items. Beings we are on this subject, here are my cartridge collection boxes I made.
