Whatever happened to Matthew Lesko? I never actually understood what the product or service was that was "free", I just remember that it didn't cost anything and I was supposed to be very excited about that. as a kid, he always reminded me of the Riddler

Ya ever get an envelope in the mail and right there it says, FREE GIFT INSIDE?  And you think,  What could it be?  Swing for the fences, is it a Dodge Viper or a Maserati Merak (SS of course)?  Nope...An Evercade game?  Not in an envelope,  But is it something cool like a gift card that's worth something?  Could be, happened to me the other day,  but that's rare...Look,  it's probably a magnet for your fridge or a cloth to clean your glasses.   Course you could just open it up!  Nawww I'll wait til tomorrow...

Damn, I literally just posted about Matthew Lesko then saw you made this an hour earlier. Maybe thats what he was trying to tell us about this whole time

    • Just got in c64 vol 3, woot, going to have to play jump an Jr this weekend.   I'm surprised 4 years in the evercade still seems to be going strong, I need to build s new rack for mine, the original I built years ago was for 21 or so cart boxes, and we blew by that some time ago. What's there like 50 carts currently? Think a rack for 75 will be enough?
    • Dogpile on the rabbit!   The part number description and the crystal both say they are exactly the same. Yet The One needs to be slightly tuned?  I’ll but that but the description shouldn’t be the same. Something EE wise is going on here. 🤔
    • Nice Gory-Glory, love some multicart action. I still get multicart games when I find them.   Got a nes, and Sega master system collection for gba, didn't like they took off the audio Sir the Sega intros, but pretty good otherwise.
    • I misinterpreted your sentence, sorry.   Yeah, I've always understood that Space Invaders vaulted the 2600 into big success.
    • Playstation, n64, and Saturn were all great 2d consoles, but I think all were actively discouraging 2d style games. That said, each had some pretty amazing 2d offerings, but they were few and far between.   PlayStation had Raymond which was cool, don't recall if it was the same as jaguar or not (never had the jag version, keep intending to pick it up, jaguar has tons of 2d style games too btw) Clockwork knight and scud, the disposable assassin were faves of mine on Saturn, Saturn had quite a few 2d style games, I think Sega wasn't as anti 2d as the others. Duke nukem meltdown was pretty cool on 64, can't really recall others on there, but I'm sure there are more.   Like stupus said, PlayStation era was the first to really have nearly perfect arcade emulation, though some 16 bits came close.
    • The little  [1]  in the quote notes the reference, which was   By the looks (there is a paywall; I could not see the full article), the Washington Post article is noting rough estimate of the sales of the 5200 upon the discontinuation announcement.  Discontinuation totals would be roughly lifetime sales, especially given they say "reportedly", not any exact figure.  I am guessing that as of May '85, the 2600 sold 12-15 million?  I honestly don't know.   In May '84. the Atari 2600 was closer to the end of its seventh year of sales.
    • Shoot him a PM, most likely he already have assets ready to use without converting again?
    • The usual case with NTSC is that there's no non-display in the vertical plane.  With PAL we usually see at least just under a character height worth at top and bottom. (use SE. 4,3,4 to set a border colour first so you can clearly see the offscreen areas)   Also the usual with NTSC was that you'd lose at least part of the first character (and also often with PAL) - that's why we have the 2 character margin (which probably could be just 1 for 99% of cases) Plus/4 has almost identical default screen architecture though I think their character start is slightly to the right vs ours.   If you have an adjustable monitor I'd advise leave a couple of pixels at left/right for border.  The usually always black nondisplay at top/bottom, similar though you want to leave a little more top/bottom with PAL.   In most cases games didn't really use the display outside the normal 320 horizontal though in some cases it can be useful to see a bit more.     All that said though, if you differ too much from your video system's norm, you might end up with an aspect ratio that you're not used to.
    • Hi, while i'm waiting for my 400 to arrive i may ask a question.   has the 400 bluetooth build in? Or how would a PS4 Controller have been connected? I would like to use my Atari VCS Joysticks wireless?   Kind Regards Rom
