I feel like anyone who claims to work more than two in jobs is full of it. At your primary job, there's times where you are expected to come in early or stay late. Or come in on a day you're normally not scheduled. There's no way you can satisfy the demands of three different companies. The second job will be somewhat lenient with your scheduling if they understand you have a primary job but it's nearly impossible to keep a third job going for any length time where you have to show up at a certain place at a certain time (and still manage to have a life)

Can anybody link me to how the heck crazy climber controls? I have a stick for it, but I'm garbage, and attract mode is zero help.
      1. ZippyOasys

It's a twin-stick arcade game akin to Robotron, one joystick controls the left arm & leg of the climber. Another joystick controls the climber's right arm & leg. Here's a gameplay video from Phosphor Dot Fossils, he explains how the game is controlled as he plays the game.

That video doesn't explain any of the rules about how movement works. Either everybody sucks at that game, or it's just hard to teach. ...wait.. @Crazy Climber Help?

    • Fun fact: The green label version doesn't have an intro scene.  While the blue one does.
    • This is super lame... but I installed one in my 8088 KayPro PC-10. It has an NEC V20 8088 processor, and originally came with a Seagate ST-225 RLL hard drive. The "sound" was every bit what made the computer what I remember it. I saved my original one, but put in a non-working one (hardrive spins, but tons and tons of bad sectors). Removed the old RLL controller, and installed the PC-XT card with a 128mb DOM, and then I still plugged in the Seagate RLL drive... just with power, so it turns on with the power. You hear it running, it doesn't give the beep/boop sounds of loading files, but you still get that disk spinning sound, even though I'm using the DOM. hahah...
    • I purchased an NTSC 7800 recently and added a Best Electronics composite mod.  When I plugged it in I was not happy with the picture quality.  It had jail bars and a blurry output.  I adjusted the red coil and that minimized the jail bars but the picture still has a grid pattern to it.  Would old capacitors have something to do with it?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    • Not sure how the XBIOS routines work, but usually in Atari OS, strings all end with $9B I would have thought that XBIOS would use the same terminator. e.g. hello2 .byte "VOIR EXAMINER PRENDRE PARLER ATTENDRE ",$9b .byte "ALLER UTILISER DONNER INV ACTIONNER ",$9b
    • Is there a trick to getting the .rom files to play? The .xex versions work although sometimes I have to change to 800XL or 130XE to get them to run right. However, the rom for Fast Food goes to Memo Pad if machine type is 400, but goes to a Self Test screen if set to 130XE. I also tried changing the .rom to .c02, with the same result (I have no idea if this is a cartridge image that needs a change like this).
    • At least they did not name it "Colossus."  But, it is Intel, which means it will likely be less efficient than a competitor's and full of security holes.
    • John is stressed at being asked for an ETA of a game that should have been ready for release 4 years ago. If he wasn't being an incompetent boob with his friend @Tommy Tallarico and company he wouldn't need to stress over it.   Don't forget to get those FCC certs for your controllers John! You are going to need them if you want to start manufacturing soon!   Maybe he should waste time making videos talking about his stupid mustache while showing they stole assets? I hear that's productive.
    • This was true later on but it's important to note that when the Game Gear launched in early 1991 Sega was only starting to catch fire with the Genesis. In Japan Sega was repeatedly unsuccessful until the Saturn - all of its consoles were flops at home. The SMS was a flop everywhere but Europe. The Genesis managed to establish a solid lead in 1989 and 1990 but the TG-16 was surprisingly competitive despite a much smaller developer pool and budget.   The Game Gear first year library is even more lacking in recognizable titles than the Lynx library up to that point: https://segaretro.org/Category:1991_Game_Gear_games The only recognizable Sega games to Sega fans would have been Space Harrier and Shinobi. Pac-Man was the sole prominent non-Sega game. Sega didn't even bother releasing the excellent Out Run or Rastan ports in the US! (Note that some games listed there, like Ax Battler and Ninja Gaiden, came out in 1992 in the West.) In fact, Sega had an almost bloody-minded resistance to revisiting past glories on the Game Gear: many existing Mark III games never even made the jump, and lots of obvious arcade favorites either never got ported (like Zaxxon or Turbo) or released in the US (like Pengo).   Instead Sega put their money into developing amazing original games with two powerful licenses: Disney (Mickey Mouse in Castle of Illusion and Donald Duck in the Lucky Dime Caper) and MVP quarterback Joe Montana (Joe Montana Football). These games sold well on the basis of popular licenses and then word of mouth of the fantastic portable gameplay spread like wildfire among kids on playgrounds.   But it's what happened at Christmas 1991 that really lifted the Game Gear to a respectable but distant second place behind the Game Boy: Sonic the Hedgehog launched. The game had launched on the Genesis in the summer and turned the system into a sensation, and a fantastic portable version that in some ways surpasses the home console version absolutely blew people away at department store demo kiosks that Christmas.   Of course the Game Gear's later library is more connected to the more modern console game experience of the 90s (with RPGs and action adventure games) than the Lynx was, but they didn't start out so different. Atari's cheapness with big name non-video game licenses, lack of a vision for a game as fresh and exciting as Sonic, and Jack Tramiel's characteristic cheapness is what put the Lynx in third, more than any pre-existing structural advantage that Sega had.   As far as Japanese third parties, Atari had Namco, Tecmo, and Taito from the get go. Sega didn't have that many early on either because everyone was afraid of Nintendo. Atari also had Atari Games, Midway, Williams, and Atari's own games. The ports were awesome, it was the original games that were lacking.
    • Sounds like something shorted out upon powering it up... a surge taking out an old worn component.  A good section to check would be the -13VDC section which is a few caps and diodes.  I've heard of one of those caps shorting out taking out the -13VDC rail.  Easy to power up and measure the voltages on the large 4 pin connector and see if you have -13V and the other ones.  Obviously don't touch the neck PCB while it's on.   https://retrorepairbear.co.uk/services/ comes up a lot in the facebook group for UK repairs.  Good luck and looking forward to seeing you come back
