Under my fingernail itches but I can't scratch it because there's this stupid fingernail in the way.
      1. carlsson

How far in? Perhaps a pencil or gently scratching with a precision screwdriver would work. Watch out though so you don't injure yourself.
      2. atari2600land

I used the end of a twistie tie I had laying around. I don't know why it itches, though. I guess skin anywhere can itch.

I used to get pain under my nails until I started cleaning them regularly. I researched that there can be fungus under the nails. The nail clippers with the little "pick" thing are hard to find. I mightve gotten mine on Amazon.

First I want to say a very big Thank You for the XB Compiler you created.  While using it I ran into an issue I hope you can help me with.  I have a program called MarbleMaze.  It loads a screen that was saved by using CALL GCHAR, then putting on a file on disk.  When I compile the XB program the screen loads with an extra character on the left side of the screen.  This then loses the character on the right side of the screen thus does not display properly.  It all works fine in Extended Basic.  Any help would be appreciated.  Let me know if you need additional info.
      1. senior_falcon

I would need to see the XB program. Also, a screenshot or two would be helpful so I know what to look for.
If you are reading from disk, remember that the only disk format supported is Display, Variable. The length can be anything.
      2. RedBaron

Ok Thanks.  Yes, the file I was trying to load is an Internal Fixed 40.  That is the issue.  I love your Compile program and plan on using it to compile my BOXMAN program for the TI.  I must have missed that part looking through the Documents.

    • Yeah. Although, comparing a still from the video showing ROM data with the emulated equivalent from Altirra clearly shows that the top line of each character displays correctly on a badline, followed by data from character $FF on every other line... So I think we have this nailed down.
    • Ok see now I've always liked Kendo Rage, knew it was a (for the time) edited the best it could game without ruining it from overseas, but had no idea there was some spinoff sequel of sorts.  Shame it's not another of the same style, but the fighter, just dug up a video.  It had a SFC release, shortly after (months) PS1 too both stuck in Japan except much later when it got some oddball PSN type release under some import label to download which I'm sure got ignored being just weird.   It looks like a good bit of fun, curious, after posting this I'll see what it goes for.  There are a few oddities I had at a time not known came to the system.   That said, I was thinking, and did you know aside from the usually known Neo Geo ports that we got to the SNES/SFC that there were a number of spinoff titles from the franchise, if not just sequels that annoyingly were not localized?  I keep forgetting to grab these as I know I'd enjoy them, and here's a top 3 of such things (in no interesting order.)   #1 Sengoku (Sengoku Denshou)   #2 Neo Drift Out (Super Drift Out) -- this one I looked up before, super cheap grab   #3 Art of Fighting 2 (Ryuko no Ken 2) -- also fairly cheap ($20 range)   There are others, but people are I think a bit more aware, just got 2 of them myself from a soon to be cheap to free lot of SFC titles online.
    • I'm glad I switched away from Chrome to Firefox a while ago!    ..Al
    • OK, I see.  What we need now then - modify my original program and put a graphics character in place of the zero in line 40. I might suggest try CTRL-Y there - that should show PF1 for 4 pixels then PF2 on 4 pixels in the top scanline.

    • I've had it off and on over time, not seen a real cart around here in some years.  The reputation is well set on it being hard.  THe earlier stages if you're well up on gravity type games that drag you down aren't much of a challenge, but it does pick up both in challenge and survivability with both the attacks and ever growing size of the stages and varying gravity effects.

    • This might be a good time to inform or remind people that all forms of adblocking will stop working in Chrome in less than two months, so you might want to switch to Firefox anyway instead of wasting time trying to get Chrome to download .bin files.   (Yeah, ironic that Chrome blocks claims the things you want to download are spam and malware and forces you to go around it, but will soon refuse to let you block spam and malware as long as they're served in the form of ads)
    • In the early 2000s we'd generally get CPU temp from a sensor on the motherboard under the CPU itself - these will generally read well under what the core based sensors return so hitting high 80s and beyond isn't really a problem with newer CPUs.  The good thing about modern CPUs is that (unless you override with BIOS settings) they will throttle automatically once temperatures become a danger. You can also notice a core sensor reading will go up and down rapidly in accordance to load where the motherboard based ones had a lot more lag.   For a CPU with lots of cores you could find a sweet spot - likely running 60-75% # of threads vs logical cores available would get a lot done without too much heat or making everything else sluggish.
