I wish I could live until year 3043. That year there will be a solar eclipse on Dec 23, and from what I understand, Christmas Day and Eid al Fitr will coincide on the same day for the first time since 1413 AD.

Whoever originally said that "Xbox is dead" rumor should probably doublecheck their sources instead of using it as rage bait.

To put it simply, Xbox is very much alive and apparently there is talk of an upcoming Xbox handheld, which could mean more competition for the Switch and the Steam Deck. Finger crossed on this one.

    • Yes definitely. the M-classic is expensive, thou cheaper than say buying a retrotink 5x etc. Dreamcast games look amazing!
    • I think it's just luck, there's nothing wrong with my joystick - I've tested the stick and buttons under Linux with jstest and it works fine.  My only gripe with the joystick is I keep hitting the extra buttons on the outer ring and the corner button.  Apart from that - which is something I'll just have to get used to, mine is absolutely fine.
    • Here you go. I went into HxD and removed the 16-byte header for you.   BASIC.ROM SDX needs to be enabled in the settings and all cartridges need to be removed. Other than that, it should just work. The only other explanation is that your Incognito has an ancient JED file on the CPLD. There was a bug fix very early in the life of Incognito which addressed the exact issue of software launched from the loader not being able to access the ROM banking register.
    • It always says that it can't detect my hardware when I do that.  Yes FAT FMS is enabled.
    • You'd think not, until someone involved with competing hardware starts to make the limitation a wedge issue.   In all seriousness, though, my main motivation for raising the limit to 1,024 files on SIDE3 was in order to handle some of the game archives from the Polish FTP sites. Many of them are organised alphabetically in folders, and 500 plus games in one folder is not uncommon. I wanted the loader to be able to deal with that, and the SIDE3 loader is able to load and sort such huge directories in a few seconds. The fact the live search facility favours the current folder before iterating through the rest of the directory tree makes it easy to home in on the file you want even when there are thirty pages of directory entries.
    • The MULE issue appears like it might be an emulation bug rather than a wrong disk image. Just tried the Atarimania .ATRs of both the Ariolasoft UK and Electronic Arts versions and both exhibit the same graphical glitches. The Homesoft "Multi-Joy" .XEX version crashes. And the other .XEX I have only appears to support 2 players regardless of system.
    • I've never played this before and, man is it hard!  I went with the same as Rickster since j figured he knows better than me.  (All games played on the Flashback.)   Track 2 - Tan Car:  10:24 Track 3 - Red Car:  9:54 Track 4 - Green Car:  10:53   Total Time:  31 minutes 11 seconds   I think I crashed on nearly every turn (and even of the few straightaways) on Track 2.  Track 3 was only marginally better, and I had a bit of inspiration or something for Track 4.   This game is so hard and each round takes so long, that these might be the only scores I post.  It was interesting to check the game out, though.  Quite impressive for 1979.
    • Enable 'FAT FMS' in the loader, put UFLASH.XEX and the BASIC ROM in a FAT16/32 partition, and run UFLASH directly from said loader. A CIO FAT filesystem driver is installed before the XEX is launched and UFLASH's file selector is then able to navigate the FAT directory tree and load files as if it was running under DOS (the implementation is read-only with Incognito and SIDE2, but R/W on SIDE3). This removes the requirement to copy files into SDFS partitions or fiddle about with disk images. Certainly you can put your ROMs on the ATR, mount the disk image on D1: (anywhere which doesn't clash with a HDD volume), and go in via SDX if you prefer. SDX has a read-only FAT16 driver but setting up 'external' APT entries for FAT partitions is another discussion entirely. Yes, but be sure to remove the 16-byte CAR header at the top of the file as well.
    • I actually pre ordered 3 extra sticks. My order is direct from Atari and given there past delays in delivery I may get my order next week or in three weeks, who knows!
