Berzerk enhanced from Atari- worth it? Yay or nay? Voice added - yes, diagonal firing robots, yes…any other enhancements? I’m seriously on the fence. At the end of the day except for 2 (tweaks), dropping $40 bucks on a game I own, have a sd card With the original and a few
dozen hacks already…I’m almost just buying it to “collect” is then gameplay worth a new copy?
      1. Intellivision Master

I have the game.  It's good.  I never owned the original but the enhanced version is nice.  Another thing that was added is the explosions when the robots blow up.  Also minor bug fixes too.  If you buy the game from Atari, you can use the 15% off.  Just sign up and they'll email a code to you.
      2. LS650

I own the original version and really like it - but I find the enhanced version is a little better.  Is it worth $30 US plus shipping, especially when you can find a used Berzerk original for a few bucks?  Only you can decide that.
      3. shane857

Me personally...the added voice/diagonal firing and a slightly higher resolution. Only if you are a Berzerk fan. The speech isn't that clear.
      4. bent_pin

Yup, worth it. I got a copy for myself and recently drop-shipped a copy as part of a trade and both of us love it.
      5. jetset

Thanks for your input fellow Atarians. I pulled the trigger! The 15% didn't work   But that's fine. I have ten games coming from the AA store, so Berzerk (and Mr Run N Jump) make an even dozen coming! I see an all Atari day or weekend in the near future!

    • Hey mate.  Been busy in a new job (shift work).  Good to see your skinny ass again. (That didn't sound right!)
    • eBay has an international program through their ground advantage shipping. If the seller sees a rate, then I ship to them. No form other than a customs code from the harmonized terif.
    • Good condition. Tested 100% Keyboard is fine with original mylar.   Asking $275 with original power supply and BASIC cart (if you need it) plus shipping from 30907 USA.   Any questions, just ask!
    • Oh, that reminds me, I need to refund a little bit of shipping for someone...   This pisses me off.  It has only happened to me once, and I adamantly refused.  My shipping charges are what eBay calculates.  Period.  If someone does not like the charge, they can contact me ahead of time so I can explain, or they can just pass on.  The only time I ever charged more to shipping was international, which I no longer do, because of the amount of time it took for customs forms and that I had to stand in line at the Post Office to ship.  I have no idea if that is the case anymore as I stopped shipping internationally a long time ago (except to the Great White North.)
    • I see.  Do you think an admin would be able to unlock the post for editing?  It's not to help me, it's to help whoever reads it later.  I just happened to see this thread and thought maybe I could be helpful.
    • Don't get discouraged - it's all coming along nicely.
    • I love my EclaireXL.  But some things that I think were missing:   1.  PCB form factor that would fit in a 600XL or 800XL case with most ports lining up. 2.  S-Video in addition to the truly superb HDMI/DVI.  (I'm probably in a minority, but being able to connect to CRT monitors with S-video is still pretty awesome.)  BTW, Panos made a couple of the S-Video adapters, IIRC. 3.  Ability to attach a real Atari keyboard.  If you've typed on a real Atari for 40+ years, your fingers *know* where all those special keys are.   IIRC, the EclaireXL will run at something like 30+ MHz, although I no longer think that is terribly important.  A mere 7 MHz makes for a very snappy machine.
    • Such a shame that the Super Off Road: Baja sequel was a dud. The original arcade port on the SNES is (in my opinion) the definitive edition even though it only has a 2 player option instead of 3 like the cabinet.
