RIP Dickey Betts. Incredible song writer, great guitarist and a HUGE influence. The Allman Brothers Band is my all-time favorite band. Rest in peace to one of the last Brothers (Jaimoe is the only original member left).
      1. jeremiahjt

Great guitarist from a great band.  He outlived Duane by a few decades at least.  What is your favorite song of theirs?
      2. BydoEmpire

Hard to pick a favorite. My favorite Dickey song is probably Blue Sky. Favorite ABB song... I don't know. I absolutely love Get On With Your Life... Maybe Whipping Post? Dreams? Liz Reed?

Back Where It All Begins is my favorite studio record. It's the one that got me into the band in the first place so it has a special place.

Unpopular and Controversial Opinions, Volume 22:
-'80s British Stop-motion cartoons > most American cartoons from that decade.
-Frank Zappa's music has aged gracefully.
-On the other hand, Green Day still sucks.
-While I abhor their employee treatment, Konami is trying to amend their credibility. Credibility that was ruined when Kojima was company Vice President.
-Grandia II = What Final Fantasy VII should have been.
-Van Beuren's Tom & Jerry > MGM's Tom & Jerry. (Fun fact: Tom in the MGM cartoons was originally called Jasper and Jerry was called Jinx.)
-Metal Gear Solid 2 is like the PS1 Masterpiece that preceded it but bad.
-Speaking of Grandia, I still recommend Monochrome Mobius, Child of Light, and Terra Memoria.
-I'm glad that John K Bacchus is still working on Mega Man X: Corrupted.
-Of all the games released under the PS2 Sega Ages 2500 line, Space Harrier was the best one.

Grandia II = What Final Fantasy VII should have been. 💪
      2. BydoEmpire

I'm not sure "Frank Zappa's music has aged gracefully" is an unpopular opinion. If you're a Zappa fan, it's timeless. If you don't like it or don't get it, you probably felt that way from the start. Incidentally, I just watched my Zappa Plays Zappa DVD for the first time in quite a while. Incredible stuff.

    • Somebody should homebrew Outlaw and re-release it, either for the 2600 or 7800. Improved graphics, more 1 player variations and maybe add a 2600 version of 'Ecstacy of Gold' as a background tune... I know Atari are releasing a Limited edition of the game with a cool new label. Think the game is the original thou, not enhanced in any way. Also only shipping to the US https://atari.com/products/outlaw-2600-silver-box-limited-edition
    • Doesn't appeal to me either,  not even the name but then again <heresy>I was never a big fan of the original Yar's Revenge anyway</heresy>
    • Very interesting, I may just do that then
    • Sad to see the end of the Z80 Zilog era my first love is the TMS9900 but I also have a lot of respect for the MSX community and their amazing passion to keep making new games & hardware. I hope soon to again own some Z80 systems as many used the TMS9918 & V9938 video chips.
    • Space Cavern. That's one that I'm after. Nice Artwork. 👍
    • If you need help for next season I'll help you with the INTV Classic's HSC Club.   I should be pretty much squared away as far as medical appointments and reduced to the usual 6-month follow-ups across the board.    It's been pretty hectic for me the last 2 months.   I've barely played my deck the last 2 months period. 🤬   But after next week things are finally (KOW) going to calm down on my end.    One thing I haven't learned how to do yet, is kill those little turd balls on Super Cobra in a consistent manner LOL   But I will say one thing I think maybe one time a year would be a good thing just add more games for a fall session.     Because obviously when it's close to summer time there's more stuff going on simply because of the weather's better.    But if it's November in Pittsburgh and I have a storm going and I can't go anywhere? I'm firing up the deck.   LOL
    • Great shooter. I enjoy this one. 👍
    • Yes, did not enter the compo for a while so I was extra motivated and focused during the convention.  Hope to see you soon at an AC or eJagfest.
    • Aha, so there is a difference between MyDOS and DOS 2.5 regarding binary load from Basic (therefore a different machinecode required). Since I am no programmer, I did not know this.   Evil me, I wanted to have all Tenliner games on a 130k disk. So I simply packed the two longest programs (Acme Inc and Fall Ball, both ug-Basic programs) and then they did all fit on a 130k disk. But with DOS 2.5 and your menu on this 130k diskette all XEX files did not run anymore. With MyDOS and your menu on this 130k disk I also had some problems (think the XEX files still did not load, but maybe it was something else that did not work).   So I loaded your menu from the Tenliners 2023 (130k DOS 2.5 disk image) and listed lines 65 and 66 to diskette and then entered it to the menu of the Tenliners 2024 on my 130k DOS 2.5 disk - and that worked. The packed programs show some garbage when depacking, but otherwise they work fine (and all XEX files load fine from DOS 2.5 now).
    • I haven't played Hera Primera but I tried to run it. Result is that Hera Primara runs on buzz-Vectrex consoles but does not run on non-buzz Vectrex consoles (Serial numbers 31xxxxx and 4xxxxxx). Poly.play is currently ellaborating this and is looking for a solution.
