just got a nice screen protector for my iPad mini. After taking about 40 min to assure not air bubbles or dust were present I managed to apply it, very pleased with result. Best of all with the stylus has a little drag now and matte finish so not so smooth like on glass, feels more like paper. Tested to make sure, hey I’m no pro but it’s honest art at least 😛to be fair I used the simplest drawing program, no layers or magnification, literally the same as drawing with colored pencils so I am pleased. At least I can make something without a reference. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If it took 40 minutes, it probably was good that you didn't bite your lip in the process.

    • Atari 5200 Homebrew or updated arcade ports don't run well,  the GSP control wont start the game or buttons are off... Would love to play the 5200 that the Atari store has or maybe even a MULE 5200 rom.. I would pay for the ROMs but as I can see its made for the Atari store or private sites for and Carts only sales.
    • Thank you very much for doing this because I just realised that the issue with the ALT-255 character exists in STalker's VT52 mode only then ??? Which means there is nothing wrong with my logo's or my new menus, wow that is such a huge relief because I have been banging my head on this the entire day, yesterday. for example taking that last logoff screenshot Here is how it looked on my end   So that actually means I just have to ditch STalker and check my VT52 changes with TAZ. And that means once the menus are looking good, I can start working on putting  the Main , File and Message subroutines into seperate MCL files.
    • NES/Famicom:   Twinbee 3 12mins Terra Cresta 5 mins   Was testing a new My Arcade Famicom adapter and it works quite well! Twinbee 3 used to crash with the Hyperkin adapter (a pin it needed must not been making good contact) but no crashes with the new adapter.
    • Very fair trade with Keir, I feel I got the better end of the bargain. Prompt shipping and good communication, I hope we can trade again.
    • Triple Jump doesn’t put any in the top 10, although arguably they didn’t rank PCs. Not my ranking, I don’t think I have played enough home PCs other than the Atari 800. If you were to merge all three lists in to a single one, you might get something like my <spoiled> list below. Triple Jump ranked the consoles by size of library, total system sales, price at launch, number of years it was supported, number of games that have 90% or better on MetaCritic. 43# Atari XEGS 41# Atari Jaguar 39# Atari 5200 35# Atari 7800 16# Atari 2600   #14 Sega Dreamcast 11# Genesis/MegaDrive 10# Nintendo Switch 9# NES / Famicom 8# Microsoft XBox 7# Nintendo Wii 6# Sony PS4 5# Nintendo SNES 4# Sony PSX 3# Sony PS3 2# Microsoft XBox360 1# Sony PS2   19# Atari Lynx #5 Sony PSP #4 Nintendo Gameboy #3 Nintendo Switch #2 Nintendo Gameboy Advance #1 Nintendo DS
    • I hope I'm not boring people with this because I feel like I'm a dog with a bone 🙂 But I think this is important to understand.   The following are a cropped lists of the HMOVE and RESPx triggers that occur in the moviecart kernel that is embedded in Stella (and Gopher2600)   FR=0000 SL=032 CL=049 write 0x03 to 0x0010 (RESP0) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=032 CL=058 write 0x03 to 0x0011 (RESP1) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=033 CL=-59 write 0xe0 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0154 SL=228 CL=043 write 0x00 to 0x0010 (RESP0) (TIA) FR=0154 SL=228 CL=058 write 0x00 to 0x0011 (RESP1) (TIA) FR=0154 SL=229 CL=-59 write 0xf0 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=038 CL=-59 write 0x00 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=038 CL=151 write 0xc1 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=040 CL=-59 write 0x01 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=040 CL=151 write 0x86 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=042 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=042 CL=151 write 0x83 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=044 CL=-59 write 0xfc to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0155 SL=044 CL=151 write 0xd8 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) <continues>     And this is equivalent list for the core.bin (or movie.bin) kernel found in the moviecart github repository https://github.com/lodefmode/moviecart/tree/main/kernel   FR=0000 SL=031 CL=046 write 0xcc to 0x0010 (RESP0) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=031 CL=061 write 0xcc to 0x0011 (RESP1) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=031 CL=130 write 0x00 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=033 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=033 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=035 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=035 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=037 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=037 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=039 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=039 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=041 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=041 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=043 CL=-59 write 0xe7 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) FR=0000 SL=043 CL=151 write 0xdb to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA) <continues>   A couple of notes about the listings:   1) The Clock (CL) value for the HMOVE writes are when the TIA begins to work with the HMOVE signal (ie. when the latch starts) and not when the instruction is first decoded by the 6507. (ie. if HMOVE is called at the very start of a scanline on clock -68, the TIA won't begin to work with it until clock -59)   2) In the first listing there is a big gap between frame 0 and frame 154. This is caused by the title screen in the version of the code embedded in Stella. In the first listing we're really only interested in the writes from frame 154 onwards.   3) The first few writes to HMOVE and RESPx have been cropped because they are part of the memory clear loop and are the same for both kernels.   Comparing the listings we can see there is an additional HMOVE in the newer kernel and that this happens after the RESPx writes   FR=0000 SL=031 CL=130 write 0x00 to 0x002a (HMOVE) (TIA)   I would look to this as being the HMOVE that is causing the problem.   The location of RESPx writes are different too which I think this additional HMOVE is meant to correct. Which is does, except on the problem TIA variation.   on edit: I believe the other HMOVEs are fine and aren't causing the problem.
    • Here it is. Double-click "rxb.js", it will convert the included RXB 2012 sources (to .gpl files). Double-click "rxb.cmd", it will generate RXBG.bin. rxb xdt 2.zip
    • Bassoon seems to be a ProTracker clone which uses samples. So you need LSP. Hively generates them on the fly.
    • Anything twitchy (last minute avoidance of shots/punches/attacks/bombs etc...) that you used to play on CRT and you know you are very good at ... if this was the NES then Mike Tyson's Punch Out is the obvious test. For a 7800 I would think that Galaga (acing the bonus rounds) and probably Food Fight may be good tests, in 2600 mode Kaboom is likely a good indicator, but to be fair the 2600 has its own issues wrt HDMI conversions, still if you are up to it it's worth a shot as well (I'd try also Phoenix 2600 as lag there would make it much harder, especially in the ufo base level).   Usually this type of el-cheapo converter adds at least 1 frame of latency at times 2 or more so 17 to 33 msec (the 250msec mentioned above seems way out there to me as that is 15 frames of lag ... cause that would require a lot of buffers or entail tons of stuttering but it can be pretty bad indeed), plus the judder/stutter inherent in this kind of conversion.   For many games it's irrelevant if they allow plenty of reaction time, but if dodging at the last second or twitchy gameplay is the main course then too much added latency and the game becomes extremely hard if not outright impossible (aka you'll die a whole lot more than you remember and no, it's not just because it's been 40 years since [even if that plays a part]).
