The 50 TT030 Users for the CT60...

Recommended Posts

What was it, a year or so ago Rodolphe, the creator of the CT60 (the 68060 upgrade board for the Falcon) asked for a list of interested people in getting a 68060 upgrade for the TT030. He asked for 50 users, and got about 25 that would be willing to buy this upgrade. And so he turned his attention to the Falcon.

I'm a big fan of the TT030 and would love to show that if nothing else, there are 50 TT030 users out there that would love to see this too.

Please, if interested, sign up and tell other friends that have TT030 Atari computers about this list. Know that IF we could convince Rodolphe to make this upgrade that it would take some time to develop, so you have plenty of time to save up for the upgrade if you needed to. :)

Thanks for your time, and spread the word! Let's show that TT030 users are still alive and well out there.

I'll sign!

A 060 in the TT would be great!

Hi Greg!

You can count me in :), but I would rather like to see a fast FAST-RAM

extension (as well...), for 16/32/64 MB or max. 256MB SDRAM (when

possible),

or SIMM Sockets if not other possible.

The speed with the std. TT is good for me.

I guess I will have some troubles when using a 68060. E.g. MIDI Timing,

Cubase, X-Audio (Sample Editor) and other various MIDI Utils, or?

From: "Daniel Mandic" <daniel_mandic@aon.at>

Can you point me please to a web-site eventually, where the CT060 and

other TT specific questions are clearing up a bit for me?

Best Regards,

Daniel Mandic

Hello,

Are you sure Rodolphe asked for such a list? Can you tell where did you

read this information, please? (maybe on newsgroups?)

Here is what I found on fr.comp.sys.atari, and it concerned the CTLink,

not a CT060 for TT :

=====

The CTlink project was started a long time ago now...

After several months thinking I will finish the design (stills only the

CPLD

to code and the PCB routing around this CPLD), I realized three thru

things

:

1 - The power of MSTE, TT & standard F030 is too low to allow to really

use

Ethernet 100Mbits... Even 10Mbits and USB (12Mbits) will dramatically

decrease the performance of these machines.

2 - Pre-orders are only 16 cards for MSTE, 25 for TT and 61 for F030. For

the first 41, a second card is needed to adapt to VME. 41 is not enough

to

get a good price. And 61 on falcon is not terrible.

3 - I do not find motivation to finish this design (and win a bit money

is

not one).

4 - I need more time for some other projects I consider more important

and

really more motivating (CTPCI & new motherboard).

So, I decided to cancel the CTLink project.

The schematics and notes will be put into a ZIP file and everybody will

be

able to download.

There is no copyrights on this and if one of you want to finish I will be

happy for atari communauty.

I'm interested & would take 3 upgrades. Please add me to the list on

AtariAge. I hope that there's more interest now than there was back 2

or 3 years ago when Rodolphe raised the topic ...

Great news. I'm interested but I think I really need to get one for my Falcon too!

I would certainly be interested in one for my TT. I think I added my name to the list the first time round, it was certainly a shame there wasn't enough interest.

But I suppose there are more Falcon users than TT users?

Im defo in.

I have only just bought the CT63 for my Falcon and sure enough, This was purely cos the TT was not supported enough ( WTF? )

If he promises to develop one for the TT too, then I would happily go for one for my TT!!!

Count me in

I'm quite interested in one or two of those things.

There are others on Atari-Home as well who already know about this and think about it.

Also I know some other people who would probably take one if they already knew this.

But it would be necessary to be able to use other expansions as well, not only those made by Rodolphe.

I would of course be interested, and maybe someone in my neighbourhood too,

but I must add that :

1- accelerator + FAST-RAM is good, but - except those owning a graphics card -

most TT owners must satisfy with 640x480x16 :-( So, why not add the ability to plug a PCI or AGP graphics card ?

And Ethernet / USB too...

Why only satisfy with half the job ?

2- Rodolphe is already working on CTPCI, which I'm afraid won't be ready before

long, so I guess a board for TT won't be done (if any day) before at least

2 or 3 years :-(

We are used to very long delays with H/W projects - for instance, I paid for

2 EtherNat more than 16 months ago, that I hope I'll receive one day - but

even if we know it's normal for small quantities production, don't forget

our machines aren't eternal... as well as people - the man I wrote about in

the 1st line is over 80, and though he would be very happy to use his TT

with his LCD monitor, he might not live old enough to see the project

achieve :-(

3- very important... the price! this ought to be sensitive...

Regards,

J.-Luc
